We are having a naming day in a month for our son. We are not religious either and have decided that when Jack is old enough, if he wants to choose a path to take, then it's best he make that choice on his own.
It's more a day to introduce him to the extended family and celebrate his arrival more than anything.

I am looking at a naming ceremony in November when they are 6 months to the day. If I move to QLD as planned though I may make it a naming ceremony and a 1st birthday.
the actual naming part err...theres someone there talking about the baby n such? how much does that cost?? lol this is the most unintelligent post ive ever posted.
the non religious equivelent to a priest? that might be better... *shakes head at self*
We are having Lincoln's christening on the 27th of Sept, he will be nearly 4 months old. Im a practicing Catholic but DP isn't. He is happy to have Lincoln baptised in my faith and then we agree that Lincoln can choose a different path when he is older if he wishes. Im so excited! Especially about the cake...
Becki your DS looks like an angel in that gown.
Becki - Gorgeous, gorgeous photos...
Kian is being baptised next Saturday! I am a Catholic, but hubby is Pagan. He's happy for Kian to be baptised but may organise something for him as well. Regardless of what we do now, Kian will choose his own path to follow when he is ready.

Ds is getting baptised on aug 23rd so 1 day off 4 months. I am rc and dh is Coe, ds is being baptised rc. Although I'm not a practising catholic it still means a lot to me. Hopefully it should b a good day, afterwards we r just putting on a sausage sizzle and beer & wine afterwards. Oh and the beautiful cake- I'm xcited about that too!
We'll be getting DD christened, it'll be combined with her 1st birthday. DH is a non practising catholic & everyone in my family but me (mum was a divorcee) are catholics too. MIL still goes to church every sunday. In our families it's just a done thing.
DH also wants our kids to go to private school & i found out from my cousin if they christened it helps with this too.
Mischaswonderland ~ What you're after is a celebrant for a naming ceremony.

Im getting my twins christened on the 20th Sepember... im a Lutheran... i dont go to chuch that often except for easter and christmas but its just something we do... i will not expect my children to take this path and when they are old enough they can decide for themselves!! it means the world to my family to have them christened!!! I cant wait we will have it at the churc and then we are going back to my place for a party!!! Just ordered their outfits today... cant wait to see my twins in them :-)
We are having Lincoln christened on Sept 13th when he will be 5months old. We are slackers when it comes to going to church but still consider ourselves 'active members' of COE.
We have a family christening gown with all the christening dates embroidered on the hemline and I just hope that he will still fit into it; he is such a boofer  I am really excited cos we just got the invites from the printer in the mail (very very cheap online deal). Like Lilahh I am just deciding on the cake. For DD, we had it decorated with a minature bible and surrounded with angels. It was gorgeous!
We are having a naming day on the 27th September. Neither me nor my DH are religious. We are having the same celebrant who did our wedding ceremony for the naming day.
We are gonna check our wedding cake to see if it's still alright and have it as a cake for bub's..it was a fruit cake.

Just wondering where you ordered your outfits from? I have been looking online and haven't found anything I really like for my baby boy and my mum doesn't know what happened to my christening gown:confused:
OMG!!! It's today. I'm so excited! I can't wait to see Kian all decked out in his gown. I haven't slept well at all. Been awake since just after 4am with the multitude of things I need to do running through my head. Woohoo!
I am so gonna need Red Bull today!
Yay Kian!! (And Ushas!) Have a super day! Eat plenty of cake. :D
