Hi!
I'm quite new to the world of MCNs and at the moment using pocket nappies or AOI's that don't need covers.
I am thinking about getting a sandman night nappy, but see that they recommend a wool cover over the nappy.
I am a bit worried about it getting a bit hot with a wool cover, especially in summer. My mum has knitted wool jumpers for DS which make him sweat within minutes of putting them on (even now in winter)!
Do you still use the wool covers in summer?
Are there other covers I can get that wouldn't be so warm?
Can you use a sandman without a cover, or will it leak?
Thanks

I use wool in Summer. I prefer it to PUL as it's super breathable and combined with a damp nappy it's like an air-con.

I use sandmans at nght on both my kid they are awesome, the wool is suppose to be cool in summer as it can breath. I havn't used MC"s in summer only for the last 4 months but :yelclap:for you if you have a knitter save you lots of money. You will need to lanolise the covers which is easy after you have washed them which with a woll cover only needs to be every 3 or so weeks once it starts to smell, the wool is self cleaning. If your bubs is a heavy wetter you will need a cover as the sandmans don't have a layer of hidden PUL as they are a night nappy and need to breath whilst being on for a long period of time. My DH didn't put a cover on the other night and DS bed was very damp in the morning he is a heavy wetter though

As the pp said wool should be warm in winter and cool in summer. Sandmans are pretty good and most nights they will hold without a cover and DS is a moderate-heavy night time wetter.
