My bub is 12 weeks old now and starting to become quite the little traveler!
I recently moved her from the basinette to the cot and all of a sudden she has become houdini and manages to wriggle her way out from under the blankets, sometimes taking the wrap with her and other times escaping the wrap completely. When this first started she would wake me up with the noise of her head banging against the side of the cot. I have temporarily put a cot bumper up to prevent her from hurting herself but I know this isnt recommended due to SIDS. My wraps are expert and secure, I'm 95% sure I couldnt make them any more secure!
I really want to try and keep her under the blankets cos her room is freezing.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problems?
Any tips/ideas anyone?
My DD used to be able to get out of her wrap as well so we started double wrapping her with 2 x muslin wraps and that seemed to do the trick, now we're trying to get her put of the wrap as she's started rolling and i'm worried she'll roll onto her tummy and get stuck.
Have you see the Safe T Sleep? I know a few people who have one and love them, might be worth a look.

we went to sleeping bags :) The Grobags are really good. We couldnt wrap our son from 8 weeks - he hated it.

I would try a baby sleeping bag, I use a grobag and they are fantastic :) Maybe she doesnt like being wrapped anymore?
I would probably suggest moving her into a sleeping bag. Once they have discovered the art of getting out of the wrap, its hard to continue wrapping them (unless you double-swaddle them), but then they might get too hot. I was only able to wrap my 7 month old DD for a few weeks (despite being told the wrap she had was very difficult for babies to get out of). She'd sneak her little arms out, then pull it off, & I was forever re-wrapping her. If she's in a sleeping bag & wriggles up the cot, at least she'll still be warm.
we went to sleeping bags :)

We used an envelope wrap with the sheets, which keeps the baby from moving.
You put a big sheet under the mattress, put the baby on it, wrapped as normal, from one side wrap the end of the sheet over the baby and tuck it under her. Then the other side of the sheet goes over her and tucks in under the matress on the other side.
Does this make sense?
Give it a try.
We went to sleeping bags too as Zane was escaping but would wake up as soon as he was unwrapped. I ended up putting him in the sleeping bag and using a muslin wrap to wrap one arm in for a few days and then I let the other arm out and he settled really well without the wrap.
Sounds like she is just going to be a wriggly sleeper. My DD was like this and would sleep all over the cot and get stuck with arms and legs hanging out so I got a Airwrap as they are breathable and safer than a cot bumper.
Good Luck!

We used the kidopotomus swaddle me wraps as ds did the same thing. They r thewraps with the Velcro wings. Ds is now in a grobag but still wakes himself up because of his hands startling himself. At least now I'm assured he is warm.
We also used the kidopotomus swaddle me wraps - basically they velcro closed so Bubba cannot break out of them at all My DS (10 weeks) loves his. Babies R Us have them on sale for $25. You can by Mircofibire or the regular stretch material we have both and they are equally good.
Good luck!!

Do you have stretchy wraps? My dd could get out of wraps unless made of stretchy material. We use the pumpkin patch ones. We couldn't use the sleeping bags because her reflex would wake her up.
We gave up on wraps a couple of weeks ago when I started finding Kian in the middle of the cot with no wrap, no mittens and no blankets. So we went to the sleeping bags as well... And have an Airwrap bumper as well.

We tried a baby sleeping bag and it didn't work DS hates his arms out and our house is cold.
We tried the Woombie's and they work fo us.

Good luck in finding what works for you.
I do an ANGEL wrap, before I went to the sleep clinic I was just doing the regular wrap, If you're not doing the angel wrap, google or youtube it to see how its done and give it a shot.
Its very hard for them to get out of and I love that they still can move their arms freely about in the wrap.
Im glad im not the only one that bubs is doing that to. My DD is 6weeks and has been doing it the last few nights. I have been thinking of going to the grow bags, but am concerned about the changes in temperature at night.
