Just wondering if anyone here could tell me if it is possible to return stuff like refund back to the store(Harvey Norman).
I bought a cordless phone but not entirely happy with it cos it has such soft volume I could hardly hear when it rings also I have to press hard to my ear to talk and listen .
I check the docket there isn't anything tat says about Returning or Refund.
Any input appreciated.
Thanks guys!
Yup they do! friends of ours own a franchise I think you have a month (maybe more) to take it back. If all else fails give the store you bought it from a call, they'll be able to help you out.
How old is it and which brand? Do you have the packaging? how long did you use it for? And have you read the instruction manual to ensure that the volume is maxed?
Unless the product is faulty you can't be guarenteed a refund, but by all means try. You have to take it back to the Harveys that you purchased it from, and don't get angry.. those who get angry end up getting nothing except gossiped about when they leave. If you're happy with another phone in stock, maybe ask if you can swap it, unless you do want the money back for it. :)

Thanks guys.
Seekrit, we had the phone less than a month. it is a DORO brand. Which is nice cos it comes with 3 handset so it so convenient in our new'bigger' home. Yup, box and little things and manual still around and good. Volume checked and up to the max. The only downside, the phonebook only stores like 15 numbers!!!
Anyway, i will maybe just pop in with my 2 kids and be nice and sounds unhappy see if they take the bite.
Bought tat stuff at HN-Cooparoo(Bris)
They'll be fine, eplain the problem and you'll be right. I wouldn't be too concerned on the gossip front. Though being nice certainly helps you get what you want.
Having been in retail a long time if you're nice you'll go out of your way for them, but if they are rude then it makes it really hard to be nice.
Goodluck.
yeah, should be fine to return :) take it in and see... explain that you thought it would be louder etc.
Don't worry abotu the gossip thing either, just a pet hate when I was working at Harveys was when customers came in and would get angry after using a product for AGES (like months) and wouldn't understand that we can't just return because they didn't like the colour, yanno. We poor shmucks would get yelled at by mean people.

Nice isn't it? I found it frustraiting beyond anything, though the day someone wanted to return a dog after over 6 months I nearly passed out....

I used to work in retail as well . To top it of, i was designated to the 1st newly set up Computer dept. Imagine the cranky customers got upset over the silliest thing.
I definitely knows it take to be nice and gentle but firm to get things in your favour.
But I try my luck anyway. If they can't refund, will just keep it as spare stash in the storeroom. :banghead:
