Hi,
Glad to find this site. I am 12 weeks pregnant (since Friday), and have had brown bleeding/discharge on pantyliner Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, and today is Sunday evening. Had sex on Tuesday, too deep I think, I was on top, though missionary sex has been no problem so far. Brown discharge is heavier today, I have to change the pantyliner every 3-4 hours. There was a small amt of little tiny strands (not clots) in the toilet yessterday and this am after a BM, but otherwise relatively clear urine in toilet. Always brown when I wipe. I had 12 weeks of no spotting whatsoever. Saw a doc on Friday pm, he said my cervix is closed, the baby is at the back (doppler) so could not hear heartbeat, and he is trying to get me in for an ultrasound mon or tuesday. I was scared to have a BM every day in case there was blood (red) or tissue, but it is not the case. It seems kind of watery brown today, but definitely dark brown.
I am 42 years old, had my first pregnancy & miscarriage in Feb just one week before my mom died of ovarian cancer. So I am pretty scared. I am very healthy. I have been on the couch all weekend and last week, crying and having heartburn.
Any thought please...I am anxiously awaiting the ultrasound.
Spider.
Hi Spider
I hope you don't mind, I've moved your post to a new thread of it's very own. The other thread that you posted in was a bit old and I was worried the you might get lost.
I haven't experienced anything like that in my two pg, but know that many ppl on this site have and then have had happy healthy babies regardless. So my only advice would be to not worry until you know that there is a problem (I know that is a very easy thing to say and very hard to do). Best wishes for your ultrasound.
I'm not a doctor so don't take on what I say as absolute but it could be old blood from implantation bleeding. I wouldn't worry too much so long as it stays brown, but it wouldn't hurt to see a gp anyway.
Just remember lots of women experience discharge and bleeding and go on to have healthy babies. I had implanation bleeding with my first (mainly just brown), bright red blood at 16 weeks (all was fine), and bleeding at 9, 12 and 15 weeks with my second and all was fine as well. I had a low placenta though which corrected itself both times but they think that might have been the cause, but the doctor did tell me it is more common for women to bleed early on than people think.

Hi there :)
Thanks for moving my post to a new spot, I am new to all this. Much appreciated
Okay, so I have tried to stay on the couch again all morning. Just came from the bathroom, where I fished out a very small darker than beet red, nearly black/dark brown clot. I saved it in a baggie, in case they need to see it.
Still no call from the hospital on the appt for the ultrasound...but trying to relax. Should I worry about the clotÉ...(I am not at home in Manitoba Canada, but in Quebec Canada, so have no question mark on this keyboard, will use this symbol instead É...makes for interesting thoughts on the ultrasound when I can`t speak French very well. Hopefully my bf will be able to translate such terminology!)
I am hoping that all is well, and they will surprise me with words, There`s the heartbeat...
Thanks for the support too ladies :bee:

hI,
Just me. Thought I would let you know, went to emerg this afternoon to have ultrasound and they say the fetus was only about 6.5 weeks, while I was 12 weeks preg...and the uterus and placenta had kept growing, that is why I still had preg symptoms.
I wil wait a few days to see if my cervix opens (it is still closed), have accupuncture to try to open it, and see if it will pass on its own. If not, I will have to go for a D & C.
I appreciate your help before though, I was hoping that things would be okay after all.
Thanks for the advice and help, Susan
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I know how hard it is TTCing in your 40's and unfortunately the m/c risk at our age just makes it even harder. I had two losses at 41 but the very next pregnancy resulted in my son being born when I was 42 so please do not lose hope. :hugs:

I've had the same thing but mine has been going on since I was 6 weeks (i'm now 10.5 weeks). It's very dark brown. Every now and then its a sort of pinky but mostly brown. It's very worrying but everything else with me seems ok.
I'm sure it will be fine.
Susan, I am so sorry to hear your sad news. Wishing you all the best in your ongoing journey to motherhood.

hi Ladies,
Thanks a lot for your words and thoughts, I cry at the slightest breeze right now but it means a lot to know others understand or have gone through it too.
I went through `never again, and I can`t give up`thoughts yesterday and today. So the knowledge that one person went thoguht it at my age twice and then had a successful pregnancy after them, gives me hope and strength.
Right now I am passing large clots and tissue, and the pain is beginning to grow. I will get advil this pm, then go through it.
It will be okay...I believe. Thanks again a million!!
XO Susan
