I have a 2yr 8month old and a 11 week old and a single pram/pushchair.
Most of the time this is fine as the older one will walk around shops etc. But if I want to walk to the park (20 min walk) My older ds can can tired and wants carrying which he is far to heavy to do.
I also want to be able to get out a nd go for a power walk to try and lose some baby weight!
I like the idea of a phil & teds as it can be either a single stroller or double but not sure if the child behind will be happy. Theres a double which both child can see the same but it will be alot wider and wont always have 2 kids in it or the buggy board which is far more cheaper but not sure how great it will be if I want to go for a long walk so should I go for a phil & teds, a double pushchair or just get a buggy board?
I'd say if you're going to go for decent walks get the phil & ted's. I can't imagine my 2.5 yo ds being happy on a buggy board for longer than maybe 5 minutes and not at any speed. He still rests in the pram when he's tired - and that's a good time to take him for a walk in the pram!
And you're right, you don't want a side by side double pram such as a mountain buggy if you're going to walk it as a single pram most of the time.
You can also get an adventure buggy with a reclining toddler seat on the top - that's another good double option. Google it to see.
Have fun walking after you go shopping! :)

when my second was born i was in the same boat
most toddler seats wouldnt hold her weight or not for much longer
and i diddnt really want to fork out double Pram $$ for just a few months use
so for 10 weeks after my little man was born i carried him in th esling and had Aby in the pram but as i walk every where it did start to grate on me
in th eend i did get a toddler board and in th e6 months since Aby has used the pram 3 times ( two of wich was after falling asleep some whare) she loves the toddler board and rides on it quite happily for up to a hour on long walks
but you can ger a litaf seat to go toddler board and th eone that bugabo make(though that only fits bugabos) that have seats so they can stand or sit
also "Joovy?" make a pram with a toodler board/ seat on the back
(came out about 2 weeks after i bought mine!)
see if you could borrow one and test them out

I ended up buying a double pram as it was easier than having to chase my DD (2) whilst my DS newborn was strapped into the pram. I tried to get away without having to buy a new pram as we had a single MB and a single stroller however trying to chase after a toddler with a newborn in the baby bjorn et was just too hard.
I sold my MB and got a Baby Jogger City Mini Double and its brilliant :) They both independently recline so they can both have a sleep if they want to. It weighs hardly anything and folds flat packing easily into the car. I take it everywhere with me - so easy. My 2.5 y.o. DD sometimes likes to walk next to pram and othertimes she will sit in the pram if we are going for a walk to the shops or playground. My DS is too big now to fit into the Baby Bjorn (6 months) so its much easier to pop him in the pram.
My DD would have never stood on a board at the back of the pram. I did not buy anything until DS a few months old as I did not want to spend the money and hoping to get away with it however I think I made the right decision. We will use the double pram now for at least another 12 months. I was not impressed with the Phil and Ted pram - friends swear by them but DD is quite tall so she was a little squashed in it and I wanted DS to be able to see the same as what DD did.
Good luck with your decision!

must agree with pices_79
i would have bought the city mini
it was definitly thebetter option over a phill & ted and not any more expensive
I had a Phil & Ted's and just sold it and bought the City Mini Double.
My kids are pretty tall, so I couldn't use the recline feature on the doubles seat, and the one in the back would get annoyed not being able to see anything..
The City Mini arrived on my doorstep yesterday, it was a breeze to put together and we've already been out walking. It's probably not everyone's cup of tea, but there are so many brilliant things about it!
Anyway, the Phil & Ted's is good in that it can be just a single pram, but personally I think you'd be better off maybe getting a double, and then using your single stroller when the eldest wants to walk. You can always sell your double when you're done with it, anyway.
Meant to say... I did find a good deal online for the City Mini Double .. let me know if you're interested! :)
I want to go to a shop and look at city mini double. Anyone knows where they stock it in Sydney? Korina, how much was yours? Would be good to buy in a deal. Also, is it heavy to lift in and out of the car?
