Hi there,
I'm due in 3 weeks or so and am looking at breast pumps. I plan to breast feed and would like my DH to be able to share in the experience of feeding our baby.
I've heard the electric ones are good and I think this would be my preference as my hands and wrists can get a little arthritic, so am worried about using a manual pump.
I looked at hiring but my initial research seemd to show that the ones you could hire cost the same to hire as the popular models (Avent, Tommee Tippee etc) are to buy.
Are the ones you hire really that much better? What features should I be looking for in a pump? What has worked for you?

Would really appreciate your thoughts and experiences.

Thanks!

Lola just wanted to sugest trying the one in the hospy before buying one as i purchased an avent electric one for $250 and i cant express  Not really funny but if i dont laugh about it what else can you do?? For some reason my let down doesnt really work when i express like it does when DD sucks so i only get about 10-20ml if that. The one they had in the hospy medela elctronic was better then the avent one i thought because it stimulates your let down then switched to the long sucks on its own whereas the avent one you have to do this yourself and for me that meant more thinking about it and then less milk being expressed. Most people have no issues with this but for me i wish i would of have saved the money even though someone from work told me she couldnt express i thought i would be fine and because i am so anal and want ed everything ther before bubs came i just bought it. Anyway HTH.
