Hi,

I have a DD who back in April was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease. She was 2.5 when she was diagnosed.

I thought I would open a general thread up where we could swap ideas and recipes...just general stuff.

My sister has it, i found this (http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/collections/gluten+free) website for her to get some ideas to feed herself and her family.

Lots of stuff on there :D and there is a link to this (http://www.taste.com.au/news+features/articles/97/cereal+offenders) little bit of info too.

I was diagnosed with CD when I was 20 months old and so have lived with it a very long time. I was a bit of a medical interest point for my childhood as it was very uncommon back in the 70s. Anyway, best bet really is to stay simple. Keep your food to natural stuff. And have a good look around the healthy food aisles in supermarkets - for GF products. I don't really eat any differently to others - I just use different products and my family eat what i eat - except for lasange and pasta - i eat the GF versions...

Im also gluten/wheat free. Its easier being a single mum and Ds being so young as theres no complaints or seperate meals etc :). He does have a few snacks which aren't gf, however im beginning to suspect his also intolerant.

I don't usally cook seperate meals except for pasta, bread and cereal in the morning. We have found we really haven not changed what we eat I just cook it using the gf ingredients.

Amazing what a difference the diet has made on her though. She has put on about 1.5kgs in 3 months.....so much happier....I am so so happy to have my little girl back, she was really unwell there for a while.

Do any of you have any good recipes for puff pastry? Or is thier a gf version of this?? It was one of our favourite little snacks before she was diagnosed
