Goo Eye??

My 2.5 week old son is getting a green goo coming from one of his eyes after being asleep..sometimes there's so much of it its like his eyelashes are sticking together!

Its coming from the eye which produces tears (his other eye doesn't produce tears yet)

I've just been wiping it with a cotton ball & warm water, is this an infection that a doctor should check out, or will it go away on it's own?

To me it sounds similar to conjunctivitis.

If you are still BFing, then squirt a little into bubbas eye and wipe it away. Or you can use a saline solution and do the same thing.

If you are concerned then see your GP. I am not sure there is much else he will tell you, i am saying this as my bubba had conjunctivitis when he was a small bubba.

Could be conjunctivitis, which is highly contagious so I would take him to the GP to get him checked, squirting breastmilk in his eye will help clear it up quickly too.

But if he has been getting it since birth? he could have A blocked tear duct, my son had this and one of his eyes would constantly weep and have good coming from it.
