Is that normal ???

G has started sleeping for 3hrs again through the day & some days thats with me waking him !

He has been sick now for a number of months & has been having very broken sleep through the nite & during the days but I wouldve thought at this age he would be sticking to the 2hrs through the day ....

Should I be concerned ?

E still has 3-4 hour naps most days, if he has been sick he practically hibernates.

But I know he gets tired from his breathing issues so maybe someone with a normal kid will come along and give you a better idea of what's normal at that age LOL.

Maybe it's a growth spurt!

That's what I always try to tell myself anyway...

My DS did the exact same thing just before he turned 3! He went from sleeping around 1.5 hours a day to 3hrs a day...at first I was a little worried as everyone his age seemed to dropping their day sleeps yet he was going 'backwards' but I must admit I did kind of like the peace and quiet ! He's now almost 3.5 and still napping for 3hrs (most days!) but he's happy and healthy!

DD who has just turned 2 has between 2-3hrs each day and like you after 3hrs we wake her. For her it depends on who is in the house as to how long she sleeps for - if it is just me home then she has a shorter sleep (2hrs) if others are in the house she will sleep longer. She's been doing it since I was in hospital having DD2 which is 2 months ago.

I think it could be a growth spurt. My 23 month old has not napped during the day since 18 months pretty much, he would only nap randomly. He has gone back to having 1-2 hours most days. He was sick last week so I am not sure if he is recovering from that but it sure did have me worried at first.

I'd factor in winter (outside is cold, bed is snuggly), it's possibly a bit stuffy inside (heating) he's probably due for a growth spurt :fingerscrossed: and he's been sick. :hugs:

If he doesn't ease up within a week or so, I'd get him checked out.

Maybe home made chicken soup?
