So once you get that BFP, does anyone have any tips on anything you can do to help it stick??? Food, exercise, rain dances???
my opinion... Nothing... if its going to stick, its going to stick, and if there is some reason it wont, nothing you can do to keep it there.

Cross your fingers? :fingerscrossed: ;)
I don't know that there's much you can really that's going to make a huge difference in those first couple of months.
Aside from making sure you're as healthy as possible before you conceive, taking your folic acid and not doing stupid things like smoking and drinking after you know you're pregnant, it's pretty much out of your hands.
The main deciding factor is the quality of the egg and the sperm that fertilised it - if there is a problem with either of those no amount of healthy living will make a lick of difference :( This is the cause of most miscarriages, not anything the mother has or hasn't done.
Good luck if you are ttc! :D

I agree, when I first found out I was PG, my doc sat me down and basicaly prepared me for the fact that not all babies stick... although the majority do.
What she said was that a miscarriage is usually due to a faulty sperm (eg - tiny head with long skinny tail .. her example not mine) or ann old egg - such as fertilization occuring very late just before the ovum was about to die. These are just two examples she gave me, but she said that miscarriage was the body's way of aborting a fetus that wont survive the length of the pregnancy. The best thing we can do to limit the chances of miscarriage is to make sure we are in the best possible health prior to concieiving such as limiting alchohol, not smoking, taking folate supplements and eating well.
All that aside try not to worry too much about miscarriages. Its not something that we have that much control over and stressing about it wouldnt be good. Listen to your body. rest when you need to rest, eat when you need to eat etc
Congratulations on your pregnancy and I wish you a very happy and healthy nine months!!
