I've got question about having a Hysteroscopy and D&C

Hi guys,

I'm just wondering whether you guys might be able to help me.....

DH & I have just had a our first try at AI/IUI and were unsuccessful. I started bleeding (CD1) on Saturday 24 June, i get a call from the SIVF clinic saying that my specialist wants me to go and have an ultrasound done as she noticed patches in the uterus lining in the U/S i had before they performed the first insemination and she has concerns so I went and had the U/S done yesterday (Wed).

Well i had the U/S done and get a call about 1.00pm saying that the uterus lining is STILL thick and that she will be performing a Hysteroscopy and D&C next Monday and thats fine so I asked her how long after its done can we get ready for the next AI/IUI cycle and she tells me 6 weeks, and I'm like 'WHAT?'.

I had a Laperoscopy, Hysteroscopy, D&C and Curett done back in Sept 04 and ended up getting a period 3 weeks after it was done and just can't understand why I have to wait 6 weeks to start treatment for another cycle of AI/IUI???

I don't know if you girls can help but if anyone has gone thru this and can offer some advice/help I'd really appreciate :)

Sorry girls, I think I got myself too worked up about this, I'm just too impatient and want things to happen now. As I've already said I had this done back in Sept 04 and ended up having a period 3 weeks after so I'm going to see what happen in 3 weeks after this one and if nothing then go back to the specialist and speak to her about it.
