Anyone done this degree? I am thinking of applying to do it by distance - the course would start in february and only be 2 years (as i have one a diploma of children's services)

Has anyone done a DEGREE by distance before?

Just looking for some advice....

On asking how much it should cost, the reply seemed cheapish- less than $5000... maybe its because its distance and only 2 years but how dos this compare with what you pay?

Not sure about how the price compares to other distance courses, but it is VERY cheap compared to actually attending a university.
Yeah for HECS!!:smiliedance:

I just finished my diploma and was looking at doing this too...who are you planning on studying with?
I've heard good feedback from friends on studying distance through Charles Sturt and Uni of New England.
I've decided to wait till I've worked for a year and do the course through Uni of New England as it qualifies you for birth to 8 years which means you keep your options open and could do the Bachelor of Education later and can also work in schools.
I did some subjects by correspondence while completing my previous degree and I loved it. All the material was right there and you do it at your own pace.
I'm pretty sure it costs the same as any degree and you pay through HECS- so minimal upfront costs.

I did it before having ds, i did it through new england. sorry typing with one hand.....dont ask lol

it was cheap i think 1000 a semester and took me two years p/t

the only thing i found hard was that i was working full time while studying so time management and remember i didnt have a child then either

i plan on doing my fourth year whilst on maternity leave, maybe.......i might be dreaming heheh

good luck

Thanks for all the replies, I was actually looking at charles sturt :) i didn't know about new england :) It would be great to have someone else doing it at the same time.. however I'm hoping to get my diploma paperwork by the time i need to ahve my application in by and :fingerscrossed: i'll get accepted!!

nemos: I will be working full time also.... have through the cert and diploma too so hopefully i can mange myself... i get run down easily though.. i think it's because of my extra job as well.... makes for long 11 hour days... and if there's meetings sometimes 12-13 hour days! guess im young, no kids.. i SHOULD be able to do it!

dynnyrne: I believe charles sturt also has a pathways course to get bachelor of education also.... decisions decisions!
