Hi there

I have posted a similar thred today in the childcare section but havent had any responses. Im looking at having to go back to work in December and need to start looking into childcare options for my daughter (she will be 1 year old by then).
Can anyone recommend a decent child care facility or a family day care mum?
I would be interested to hear what experiences you have had with either.

Many thanks

Hi
Haven't posted in so long -my hubby has hogged the pc so haven't been able to get on
I have been recommended one down by Boykambil (Hope Island) by some ladies at playgroup -you can see it from the road opposite the BP
also the one at Coomera Anglican has been recommed but it has a long waitlist

and the other someone else mentioned was the one up by the community centre in Helensvale.

I haven't been to see them yet -would recommend you pop in uninvited to have a nosey and then whatever you do maybe go for a few sessions with your darling and then try a session where you go half way through for an hour
try it that way
also don't be suprised if on the 4-5week that get really upset or clingy
its normal for kids you start kindy or daycare and stop quickly once you have gone

let me know how you get on
I'm looking for kindy for Grace too for a couple of mornings only though

my son went to the one at hope island already mentioned its called bonny babes. very good, but very popular. i have already booked my unborn son into it for 2008!!!! my advise go and look around as soon as possible as the earlier you can give them notice that you are interested the earlier you go on the waiting list

no he is old enough now to go to "big school" pre school. were he goes to coomera . but he went from the age of 1 to 4. great teachers and the lady that runs it,bonny,is fantastic. they also run a good teaching curriculum (sp?) . actually its really handy as we only live about 4 doors up from it, so if you want any more info i can just whip down and ask bonny for you:thumbsup:

As a childcare worker myself for 5 years i have heard a fair bit of inside info about childcare centres.
Good Centres;
* Creative Kids Educare Centre, Biggera Waters
* Parklands Churches of Christ Community Centre (my son goes there)
* Young Discoverers, Helensvale
* Gaven Early Learning Centre, Gaven
* Bonny Babes, Hope Island

I know i should probably not do this as it is only hearsay, however i have been told to avoid
* ALL kindylands
* Little Stars in Coombabah
and some ABC's

I am sorry if I have offended anyone, i am only sharing the information i have been given. I am also looking for childcare for my 8 month baby and i know how important it is to feel 100% confident and secure in the people looking after your little treasures.

Hope this has helped

Just met a lady in the park whose 2 yr old child goes to ABC Helensvale opp the high school -she said they are great -they are older ladies and its quite small compared to other centres. She told me that she had look at a few including Monterey Keys one which was run by really young staff and her son has been there 6mths and loves it - so there's another working investigating

Hi,

Thanks for that information. It is nice to hear some positive feedback.
So far Ive been to the ABC ones at Monterey Keys and one in Helensvale East and will check out the one near the highschool tomorrow. The one in Helensvale East was great. The Director there was lovely. The Monterey Keys one was good too but as it was my first one I looked at, I had nothing to compare to at that stage.

There is one called Koala Kindy at Ashford Rd Helensvale, but they only take from 15 months old. The lady was nice on the phone and I think she said they had some vacancies, so mamamianz you may wish to check them out for Grace?

Rachael , send a PM to BubbaGanoush for details of the one she used to have her little boy in. Im pretty sure it was the one near TSS? and if memory serves me correct, she was happy with it.

Yes, I was....Imagine Education opposite Southport Parkshopping Centre.

Also, any of the C&K Childcares are great (from what I have heard from other mums)...but most have a bit of a waiting list.

Thankyou both :)

Will check out the imagine one. C & K have a min age of 15months and we will probably be wanting to start Bradley at around 10months (Currently 7.8months)for one day a week.

DH needs a break for a day a week to shop and clean and our darling little boy doesn't like his Daddy doing anything other than paying attention to him lol.

Hi the one in southport is good trinity it is off queen street. they have a chef there so you dont have to worry about makeing healthy lunchs and snacks. I worked there the whole time i was pregant with my son. The staff are freindly and accepting. they have cleaners there to so the staff has more time with the children. I would put my son there if i had to go back to work. Also they are building a bonny babes on yaun st coomera might have a look at that to.
