Just wondering if anyone has/is studying a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition), Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) or similar?

Hello

This is a bachelor that I am thinking about studying, in fact I have spent some considerable time on it today, researching providers. I am interested to hear how you are progressing with it or if you have started.

I have 2 boys, 15 months and 3 and I work 3 days per week.

Thanks

I haven't started, but am going to apply for next year, through QUT.
I have been researching it like mad too :D
I have just enrolled in some TAFE modules, (Pure Maths and Chemistry) in preparation for it!

Are you in QLD?

Have you found a uni in your area that offers the course? If not, there are some links on the Dietitians Association homepage.

Good Luck, let me know how you get on ;) !!

Hi

I am thinking about doing the course through the Australian College of Applied Sciences in Stones Corner, via distance.

I have tossed up doing it face-to-face full time, but it is not viable for me to give up work at this stage.

I live at Ormeau.

Thanks

I went to an open day at that college... I was't very impressed. That was a couple of years ago, though.

This time 'round, I considered applying for the Nutritional Medicine degree at ACNM, but decided to go wiht QUT, as their course is accredited by the Dietitans Association.
...though being able to do it at home would make life a whole lot easier!!

Oh... it's all just soooo confusing!

I wish someone who has started one of these course would magically appear on the forum!! :p

I am in the early stages of investigating these coarses. Im interested to know what career oppertunities you can get in nutrition. I know there is alot out there, and i just would like to study something i am interested in , so when i go back to work,i am constantly stimulated and have some qualifications. cert 4 in aplied science ( nutrition) is what i would like to do, what kind of jobs are you able to get with this and are the wages good?

With the certificate, I'm not sure what opportunities there would be?
After a bachelor... and the fourth year of Dietetics, you can be a Dietitian.:D
I don't think the pay is that fantastic, unless you became a Dietitian and went into private practice .
I'm sure there are probably some good paying jobs and some crappy ones With a Qld Health job, the starting point would be about 43k per year, increasing after each year of service.
For that you would need a Uni degree, not a certificate though.
