View Full Version : Portacot advice
Hi. I need to buy a portacot and am not sure where to start. Can anyone recommend a brand, or advise which ones to stay away from? Are they all easy to fold out and put away? Do they all come with 'average' matresses?
Thanks bubhubbers.

I have a Steelcraft one that is pretty easy to get up and down once you have worked it out. It also has the bassinet insert.
I got a piece of foam cut at Clark Rubber so there was a bit of padding on the bottom.

I bought my portacot 2nd hand and it only came with a thin padded mattress - thin enough to fold and go into the bag. It didn't look too comfy to sleep on but DD never seemed too bothered by it. The foam idea is a good one, I'd probably want to cover it with fabric or something so that bub couldn't tear pieces off.

Mine is a Steelcraft... came with all the bells & whistles... bassinette & change mat.
I have never used them!! Only the normal mattress. The cot itself is tops though!!
mine is steelcraft also and i have never used the bassinet or change table either so dont bother there.. save your $$ and just get the cot part.. and get a piece of foam cut to fit from Clark Rubber.. the mattress's are always thin and hard ...
