Sorry guys i have to vent.....

Well it all started yesterday when i got a Email  off my boss and it appears that my old boss put my maternity leave into the system wrong....therefore i have been over paid $6,000  and basically they wont it back.
I got no paper work saying this is how much i will be paid blah blah ( i took half pay for 24 weeks rather then full pay for 12 weeks) so why should i have to pay it back when they are the ones that stuffed up :banghead: I work for a bank by the way so you would think they would know how to calculate...geez

Ok so me and DF are talking about me going back to work 2-3 days a week and i feel sick just thinking about it... going back to work doesnt bother me... its leaving DD.

MIL has offered to look after her and i trust her 100% but i just feel like i have failed DD as i have to go back to work and cant be with her all the time. Did anyone else feel this way when returning to work??
:crying:

i am a bit like that too. i feel that if they stuffed up then why should i have to pay it back. i had a simialr thing happen with centrelink a few years ago. they paid me when they shouldn't. i told the lady at the counter when i lodged my forms - she said i was getting money, and i didn't think i should have as my partner earnt too much that fortnight. then they paid the money into my account anyway. i told them over the phone that i wasn't supposed to get anything and the idiot on the phone said if they paid it to you, you are entitled to it. i then got a letter a month later saying that i had been overpaid and they wanted the money back. i think in situations like that when you haev done everything to ensure that you aren't overpaid and they stuff it up then you shouldn't be responsible for it.

about leaving your daughter - i have similar feelings. it is hard to leave her even with family but it does get easier and you don't miss many milestones after 1. i think as long as you can be home with them for the first year you see so much. but less milestones happen in the 2nd year than in the 1st.

Yeah i know ... not happy jan!!

Spoke to the union and they said i will still have to pay it back even though its them that stuffed up..... one good thing is they can only make me pay back what i can afford out of my pay... so for example $20 a week

What gets me is.. that not only did they stuff up once but twice... once my mat leave is entered into the system it has to be approved by a higher manager... so not only did my manager stuff up but so did my managers manager :banghead:
