Is there such a thing in Victoria?
Or rather bulk billed for HCC holders.
if you get a referral from a GP you are eligible for medicare funded sessions.. I think it's either 6 or 8...or 12. I forget!
maybe call relationship australia? they'll know

Thanks jag :) I'll give their website a lookie
If you get a referal from your doctor you can get 12 funded which cn be extended to 18 per calender year - you get about $78 back for each session - obvioulsy more once you reach your safety net.

Aside from the above options, Relationship Australia do counselling on a sliding cost scale. Places like CAFS (Child and Family Services) also do relationship counselling, I believe.

Thanks heaps for your help guys i found exactly what i wanted
I thought i might chuck up my findings today incase anyone else is looking for similar help.
www.relationshipsaustralia.com.au is the place Jag was talking about and i contacted them.
They do a free councelling service.
I was also put onto another place called LifeWorks, www.lifeworks.com.au. They arent a free councelling option but they base the fee you pay on your income so for example anyone earning 16k a year or less will only pay $30 per 1 hour session. It goes up in stages after that.
I have an appointment with lifeworks tomoz at 3pm and it will cost me $40. I chose to pay and go to life works as the wait for relationships australia is atleast a week just to talk to a Duty worker and then approx a month after that.
Whilst im not going to bad mouth a company who gives councelling for free... i do think that if you are in need of some councelling, waiting a week - month is not a viable option.
That being said, i hope that if anyone searches the forums in the future they'll be able to get some answers from my thread...
Thanks girls :yelclap:
glad to hear you found what you were looking for gillby :hugs:
good luck and I hope you get whatever help you need
