Sliding Door Stuck

Hey

i dont know what to do!!! my back sliding door is STUCK!! IT WONT OPEN!! :crying:

There seems to be this felt thing that might be lining the bottom (are thoise things on there??) there is nothing on the track that i can see. what do i do?!?!?! It LITERALLY wont budge

(and its NOT locked)


my laundry is out there not to mention my smokes... NOOOOO:banghead:


Any help/tips/advice will be appreciated.

Have to love sliding doors - not.

The only thing I can suggest is that it has probably come off the runner top or bottom) even if it doesnt look like it has.
I used to be able to free mine up by lifting it - there should be just enough of a gap for you to put your finger tips between both doors and hold the handle at the other end.. try lifting and sliding at the same time.

(Im pretty sure youve probably done that already - I know how frustrating they are - I smashed two of mine - because they wouldnt open :laughing: )

Failing that - just walk around the outside of the house lol!

You could try greasing the track with some spray cooking oil or Mr Sheen, but there might be a little stone or pebble stuck on the track on the outside somewhere?

I wish i could walk around!! The other side leading out is fenced off to that area! and its a little court yard area and its all fenced.

Being pregnant I will also not risk falling over from the top of the fence

i swept it and cleaned it with a cloth and my finger arghhh

DD has a cold so im not going to take her out in the cold and make her worse just for my selfish deeds. :laughing:

Yeah I know - I just had to do a mercy dash for smokes myself lol.

The other thing you can do - possibly - but dont injure yourself in the process... is totally derail it.. if you lift the whole door upwards.. you can slide the bottom of it towards you so that it comes this side of the runner.
The usually have a centremeter or so leeway.

Besides that - I cant think of anything besides smashing it lol - or call a big tough male to come help :p

Usually id wait until DP came home but he called just before(when if ound out the door was stuck) and said hes working back late tonight :banghead:


OK , lift and slide worked!! But it appears the felt thing that makes it run smoothly must have snapped off and is now stuck.. so will be calling landlors later in the work.. so that means i smoke on the other side of the house lol

I get a little tool under the bottom of the door and lift it back onto it's rail when it's stuck
