What a great idea sue.

If it's a girl it'll be ... Lara Marie (Marie is after my grandma and mum)

If it's a boy it'll be ...Zachary (Zach) William

Ive decided on Paris Rose but have already changed my mind a few times during the pregnancy. I also like Alice, Alannah, Charlotte, Ruby. If it was a boy I like Oliver, Forrest or London and DH likes Navy, which I didnt mind either.

Our baby girl will be "Taliyah Jade"

Ahhh the name game.

Well if this bub had been a girl he would have been either Aishah Lily or Zoe Noor. If next bub is a girl, she'll be one of those.

But since this one's a boy, we've found it a lot harder to agree :banghead:
At one point he was going to be Jesse. Then we liked Isaac (Zac). Then it was definitely going to be Jethro (Jet) - which I still like. But now suddenly DH likes Kai, which is growing on me...argh too many choices.

Middle name will be either Rahman or Bachtiar (family names from DH's side)

I think unless we can agree in the next couple of months, we're going to wait till we meet him for the first time, and then see what suits him! And I'll play the 'I just gave birth, let me choose' advantage

Oh I love this idea. X

If its a boy DH is set on Xavier Jack. Apparently I don't have much of a say in this

If its a girl we have narrowed it down to Taylah Grace, Maddison Kate or Chloe Louise. X

DH and I decided not to tell names to ppl... but I will here (what DH doesnt know wont hurt him!)

Our shortlist for girls names are

Olivia
Lilliana

and the middle name will be Kathleen (DH's mothers name)

This little boy will probably be Archie :D . But...I also like Patrick, Baxter and Fergus and dh likes Redmond (Red) so there is still some time and room for a change...

The other spanner in the works could be my brother and sister-in-law due six weeks before us! It is unlikely they will choose any of our names - but if they chose something similar, we'd probably look for something different!!!

At this stage it looks like we're going with Toby James

DH likes it but won't commit so it could change. I'm pretty stuck on it though :fingerscrossed:

we wanted to have a few names under consideration and decide when we see the little munchkin.

problem though, we can't come up with any boys names that we like. we are going for the big surprise on finding out what sex it is. so we have to have boys and girls names.

girls names are easy. pick list so far: isabella (partners favourite), lilly, abbigail, charlotte. middle name has to be amy which is my own which comes from the family.

boys names so far: none! want something old fashioned but not really common.

feels like we're running out of time to think of names.

Our little girl will be Lily Ann. We decided on that about 2yrs ago & haven't changed our minds at all! :)

If we were having a girl it would be Skylar Veronica Georgia (the two middle names being for deceased family members).

It has been quite hard coming up with a boy's name, but we have finally done it. However we are keeping the first name secret from everyone (and sorry, I don't trust my family not to google and find my posts on this forum!) - we figure that they know the sex so something has to remain a surprise! The two middle names will be William George (again, for deceased family members).

DH and I have got a boys name chosen Alexander James for a boy, but cannot agree on a girl's name (which is bad as we have found out it is a girl). Have got a long list.
But the ones getting bandied about at the moment are
Amelie
Aurelia - love this name but not sure on how it will stand up in childhood - hard to shorten for nicknames (eg. to use in sport)
Sienna
Allegra
Brielle
Noelle
plus about another 30, with only 16 weeks to go to choose a name.

I can see our baby being nameless until Christmas.....:o

i know what you mean about the child being nameless until christmas. i fear this sometimes too as we can't come up with any boys names to put on our considering list:confused:

Well we have decided on our names:

If it is a boy - Jordan William (saw Jordan spelt Geordan the other say and quite like it!). Jordan as DH likes it and William is both our fathers middle name (they are both deceased).

If it is a girl - Keira Ruth Joan. Keira as I have loved that name for years, Ruth a family name of 4 generations on my side and Joan my MIL's middle name.

DH did want Jordan for boy or girl, but if it was a girl I would always think about that big boobed model!!! Could not have that!

Have told DH's side of the family over in NZ, but not my Mum as everytime we tell her a name she makes comments about it....

we have a long Italian surname so we have had to be careful not to have a long first name, so....

If it's a boy it will be called Julian or Isaac (we like both!)

If it's a girl she will be called Natalia.

I agree it's hard to decide.........

They are all such beautiful names!
We've decided on Lachlan Joseph for a boy. (the only boys name we can agree on!)
We're still deciding on a middle name for our girl name. We're thinking Chloe Alyse or Chloe Elise. Something like that anyway!

Well for us we are having a short list of names for boys and girls, and will make the final choice when bub is born.

I have had my heart set on Noah since I was about 16, but DP wants a few other options so they are Ned and Clancy, the middle name will be Troy for DP deceased brother.

Girls has been a bit more tricky, we can't seem to agree on anything! Morgan is our fave- but hate what it would be shortened to inevitably- Morgs- yuk!! Then its Brydie, Lucie, Annie, Daisee, Matilda or Zahra, just to begin with!! I really want Ethel for a middle name as this was my beloved nanna's name- however worried it's a bit too old fashioned!

Last year when we were talking about kids, I told DP my names:

Ella Mary for a girl (Ella my grandmother's aunt - love the name, and Mary was my other gran)

Mark Thomas for a boy (mark cos i like it, Thomas is a family name)

At the time he agreed with both (!) But since he's decided he'd like a family name too. So we've gone with:

Ella Murphy.
Murphy is his mum's maiden name & I think it's kinda cool.

So that's the name for our little girl!

Funny at the time I thought Ella was charming and old fashioned but now it seems to be a really popular name!

dont worry jess gray our sons middle name will be terrence after my dad so it would be tt (so you can keep the tj  )
my mates brother died who was terry john so my mate called her son "tj" not short for anything thats his full name. atleast its easy to spell lol

We haven't really thought too much about it yet.

We had a girls name picked out for ages 'Alberta Rose' but now its a boy we had do do some rethinking.

HEy, does anyone else find it harder to pick boys names than girls names?

The only two we have so far are:
Giles (DH's mothers maiden name)
Robson (after a great mountain in Canada)
Patrick (we just like it)

Hmmmm.....needs more thought me thinks:o

Hi Everyone!!!

Before we know what we were having we had Charlie and Jack picked out for boys and NOTHING for girls. Needless to say we found out we are having a girl so we have pretty much decided on Darcy Yohanna. We actually agreed immediatly on that name. So unless something drastic happens THATS HER NAME

Hi, I'm due October 5th!

I actually have a baby name quandry! We definitely have the boy name down pat....Noah Joseph and I have the girl's name... Maia - but no middle name for Maia!!

Can anyone suggest anything? My name is Joy so we thought Maia Joy and we also like Maia Grace but then there would be an association with Myer/Grace Brothers!!!

Help!!

Briannabear

My first thought was Maia Grace! But Maia Joy is equally as nice, and it has special meaning to you guys - being a family name.

We have called bub Sebastian from the start but now am wavering to Benedict as I prefer Ben for short to Seb. I wanted something traditional but unusual. Having checked the top baby names I found Sebastian is about 50 and Benjamin is about 11!! So If we go with Benedict there will likely be a class of Ben's but at least he will be different. We are a bit worried Benedict would be a source of teasing with the "dic" sound in it though...What do you guys think? Be honest! As for middle names - oh god it's so hard. George?

i always seem to associate names with some thing and when i hear benedict i think of the benedict monks . honestly i think i prefer sebastian.

We have decided on middle names, James Raymond (both passed away) .
I reaaly love Lachlan, and my dp love Dylan, but every time i think of Dylan i think of Luke Perry who played Dylan of bevery hills 90210:laughing: But i did say he could name the next baby as i names our first son Connor

Hi there
I just noticed you're due the same day we are. I like your choice of names. We are thinking along the lines of something short and strong. At the moment Jack is the leading favourite. I am a Matthews and partner is a Collins so we have agreed the middle and last names will be Matthew Collins instead of a hyphen. What do you guys think?

Hey I'm new to this site just found it today but so far from what I can see I love it. my due date is oct 3 so coming up and this is my first although i have a stepson turning 2 (aug 20). Anyways as for names they seem to keep changing but the latest is Aylee Mary Anne (mary and anne after the grandmothers) So if we dont come up with anything else for the next 7 weeks it looks like that is our top choice. Oh and this one is a girl as you may have guessed :P (smile..one of each were very excited)

Hi Nomers & welcome!

The names you have picked for your little girl are lovely!! We're having a girl too & have decided on Lily Ann. We cant wait to meet her! I'm due 1 Oct, so really close to your due date.

You should pop onto the August thread of Oct due's as that's where everyone posts.

Hope to see you there.

Hi girls,

Not really much of a change, but still I thought I'd tell you all about my decision to change bub's middle name if it turns out it's a girl.

We're still going with Lara and were going to go with the mn Marie after my grandma, but dh didn't love it and we didn't name dd1 after anyone...so now I am in love with

Lara Juliette

Were still going with Zachary William for a boy (I am almost positive that we won't get to use it again this time).

OK, so I don't really post much because I'm kinda shy and don't really know what to say without feeling like an idiot (I think I've posted three times since I found out I was pregnant!) but I do check in with you guys every day now I'm on leave and I need your advice on the names we have picked out for our baby boy.

We love the name Gabriel but are worried it is kinda 'poofy' and no-one else seems to like it. I also like Samuel and the other half likes Sebastian.

What do you all think?

loulousmum
19-08-2006, 08:06 PM
Jeffy, I LOVE the name Samuel/Sam for a boy but as my name is Samantha, it would be a bit silly to use it for our baby boy!

sare
20-08-2006, 12:42 PM
Jeffy, I like Gabriel and love the nn Gabe, but working with primary school aged kids I can also see your concerns about it. I also like Samuel, but I love Sebastian. That's probably not helped you at all.

Jeffy
20-08-2006, 02:35 PM

Our DS is going to be Jacob/Jakob Jon :)

Claire R
30-08-2006, 08:07 PM
Jeffy I love all your names, we must have similar taste as we have 99% decided on Sebastian, and were considering Gabriel as the middle name, although we decided it was too much of a mouthfull (have a longish last name too). I think Samuel is lovely too. They are all names that you don't hear too often but not newfangled as my Gran would say!!

Sare I really like Lara also.

We are now thinking it will be Sebastian Felix. We were joking that the middle name should just be 'X', because DH does not have a middle name and just puts X on any offical forms where you have to put an initial. Anyway I don't know if that made me like Felix because it has the X in it, but my MIL suggested it and it seems to be the favourite at present.

Guess those of us who can't make our minds up will have to in only a matter of weeks!!

we cant decide on a name we both like, though NOAH has always been in the back of our minds.
i like.. lukas, talon, and Skeet
and hubby like Max and Ollie

boys are hard to pick for.

Jeffy
11-09-2006, 03:19 PM
Boys are hard to pick for, lee81. I had to say I love the names Noah, Max and Ollie especially. We think we have settled on Samuel for our bub. Now I just have to come up with a middle name!

GeorgiaAnne
12-09-2006, 12:37 PM
I've always had boys names picked not girls so I have been reading
all those appallingly boring name books trying to find a girls' name and then get DH to agree so far we have got to Audrey, Sophia or Annabella (middle name is Hazel) What do you think??

suemp
12-09-2006, 01:00 PM
out of those i like annabella

Jeffy
12-09-2006, 01:50 PM
I love all three names but had Annabelle on my list for a girl - so my vote is for Annabella.

GeorgiaAnne
12-09-2006, 05:23 PM
Thanks for that, Annabella is DH's fav as well, mine is Audrey so we shall see. Not sure what it will depend on though?

Jeffy

I like Audrey the best - so classy and beautiful!!

We've picked Lachlan Joseph for a boy and Chloe Alyse for a girl. :D

wish we could actually narrow ours down a tad- we are going in now with a short list for boys and girls, and will decide when bub is born.

Boy:

Ned
Will (William on birth cert, but shortened to Will)
Clancy
(middle name of Troy for DF deceased brother)

Although I dont think the middle name goes well with Ned- but middle name is not negotiable.

Girl:

Annie
Lucy
Clancie
Zara
Brydie
(middle name Ethel or Amy for my Nanna, my idol!)

So we are gonna have some decisions to make- hoping once we see bub we will just know which name fits :fingerscrossed:

ANy opinions would be appreciated!!!!:D

sare
18-09-2006, 06:28 PM
Sal, I like all of your choices. Will is my favourite, I think it's a gorgeous name that suits a baby, teenager and a grown man. Out of your girls list I like Zara and Brydie the best. I am of the opinion that a baby grows into its name DD didn't look like an Eloise when she was born, but now I (and everyone else) can't imagine her as anything else. She is an Eloise through and through.

Briannabear
18-09-2006, 06:32 PM
Sal I like Will for a boy (or William), and Zara Amy for a girl.

Our first is due at the end of the month and to our delight we are having a little boy.

We went through all the nane books and the web sites but both me and my partner have stuck with the very first name we came across....Koen Shane (After his dad)

well we found it easy to pick a girls name.... Jeorgia Jayne.... so of course when we found out what it was it was a boy....
but after a lot of searching we found a perfect one......
our lil bundle of joy is going to be called... Tyler Paul......
it just has a nice ring to it!!! and Paul coz it is his daddy's middle name...
