You have had presents for your birthday already but this is the best one I think I could give you.

I accept you, for the child you are, not the child you might have been.
I accept you, for the tiny baby you were, not the full term newborn of my imagination.
I accept you, for the quiet, smart, loving child you are, not the milestone-hitting child of my imagination.
I accept you with all your special gifts and needs and I will no longer grieve what I think you lost-
You didn't lose it because you never needed it.

I am sorry I mourned the pregnancy, birth, baby and toddler you might have been because, now I see you are and were the pregnancy, birth, baby and toddler you were meant to be.

You really are perfect, just the way you are.

I will exhale and rejoice. :goodvibes:

Thats lovely!

I wrote Jasper a letter the other night because he was sleeping so beautifully and I wanted with all my heart to be able to tell him how much I love him.

I'm going to write him letters and collect them for him to read when he's old enough.

Thankyou everyone,

He is such a blessing and I am determined to stop being anxious about his delays and just rejoice in his presence in my life.

It means a lot to me that people on here would take the time to read it and write such lovely replies.

can I add..

it certainly seems that E got just the mummy that he needed too. It's always heartwarming to see the bond the 2 of you have!

Naiwen that brought tears to my eys - so beautiful.

Reading that made me "stop & smell the roses" so to speak and just embrace my children for who they are not who I expect/want them to be. :hugs: :hugs: thank you.
