I have a vague idea about using my mothers' group to start some ongoing fundraising to help orphans in developing countries - Mothers helping the motherless.

Has anyone done this with their mothers' group? Any ideas, suggestions or advice would be wonderful.

Thank you :yelclap:

What a lovely concept! Are the mothers in your group keen?

Didn't reply last night because too busy watching Masterchef :)

I haven't broached it with my MG yet, because I wanted to have a more solid idea before I presented it to them.
Was just hoping someone out there might have been doing it already...

Hi Lucy.

I have an idea you might like.

My friends and i from church raised some money for an organisation known as International Childrens Care. They help orphans and also parents of children who are in poverty.

Our project was called microcredit and we raised money to take to the phillipines. The woman are given small buisness loans.

Myself and son have just returned from the Phillipines and we actually met the woman who we have helped and it was such a thrill.

We also visited as ICC orphanage .

You can google International Childrens Care and if you want you can check out my pics from the trip on facebook.Just pm me and i will pass on my name.

What a lovely idea.Helping others is truly rewarding!
