Apparently, she was out shopping with her 14 year old brother and her uncle. Her brother found her when she did not return from the toilets. They have a description of the man, but are not releasing any more information about how she passed.
I feel so sorry for the family. I had started to let DS#1 (7 years old) go to the toilets by himself, with me outside of course, but this has changed my mind and it's back to the parents room for us.

Its hard isnt it Joanne, when you have a son and they get to the stage where they want to be independant and no longer want to go to the WOMENS toilets.............same when dads are with their daughters
I think the parents rooms are a great alternative
...also worry about the 14yo brother. He''ll live with the image of her in his mind forever. I just hope he dosn't blame himself:crying:
This is just too awful for words. Hope they get that mongrel:mad: That poor family:crying:
I never let my son go to the toilet alone. At swimming he has to get dressed in the ladies change room as there is no parents room. He has to come inot the ladies wherever there is no parents room. I have had a couple of looks but I think stuff you, I am not going to put my son at risk for anyone.

I just saw this on the news I just cant imagine how the poor family is coping. I cannot understand how someone could do that to a precious child i Pray they find the ******* and justice can be served:(
:( :(
That is just terrible. What are you supposed to do these days to keep children safe? You'd think that at that age they would be safe to just pop to the loo on their own. That it just shocking.
thats just too sad for words! :gloomy:
what is the world coming too.. why the hell would some one do such a thing!
makes me so mad that there is such evil people in the world!
My thoughts are with the family! Her poor brother.. he will live with that for the rest of his life! :crying:

This happened at my local shops!!! I was there on Saturday and I shop there every week. Actually I use the disabled toilet all the time as there isnt a toilet you can take a pram into in the parents room.
It makes me sick!! I hope they find the sick so and so who did this! :banghead:
My heart goes out to the girls family.:hugs:
I say there should be child friendly toilets at all shopping centres. Maybe a few unisex toilets so that children never have to go to the toilet unattended.
It's so disturbing isn't it? :(
It's like people just kill for the sake of doing it. You know, you go out shopping, go out working and go out hunting humans... I just don't get it!
What would someone get out of killing a poor innocent child?
I don't condone killing adults, but the point i'm making is, at that age, I can't imagine that they could do anything to turn even a psycho into a hunter... you know as a provocation.
I can't get my head around this stuff.
It's just... distressing and disturbing.
Humans will never really evolve it seems! :banghead:

Danae, do you know which shopping centre it was?
Well DS is not old enuff to go to the toilet, lol he is still in nappies, but i will not be letting him go to the toilet himself, i see mums that take their boys into the ladies, and i think that is what i will be doing....

I would do exactly the same. Its a sad world we live in and we have to protect our own. That poor brother and uncle. How were they to know that a monster was lurking? They actually ran after him when they saw him come out of the toilets. It makes me feel sick.
I heard this on the news last night and cried :crying:
That poor beautiful little girl, and her poor brother and uncle, I can't even begin to imagine how they feel :crying:
What is the world coming to? My eldest two are getting to an age where they want to only go to 'their' (Male or female) toilets. I've never let them go on their own and probably now never will :o
I so agree with the idea of unisex toilets. I think these days things like that, unfortunately, are so desperately needed.
I'm so scared now....you never think these things would happen so close to home....

Yet, with everything that is going on in the world, they still manage to put nicole kidmans wedding, on the news first... doesnt that make you sick... Here are children are in danger, and yet her getting married, makes the first story... what is wrong with the media, let alone society...

It will be the leading story on the news today and tonight. It was front page on the Sydney Morning Herald online today...along with the socceroos loss. www.smh.com.au She was only found at 4.10 yesterday arvo and after preliminary investigations and informing family etc, it made it into the late night news.
I feel like stories on SVU, Law and Order and CSI are becoming our norm in Australia. Does something like this happen every day in the USA? Its just so hard to stomach it happening here in Australia.

Think I need to stay away from these kinds of stories, this one has upset me soo much :crying:
RIP little girl. and i hope they find the scum who did this and put him away, but knowing our justice system who knows.

Im pretty sure it happened in public toilets aswell and the offenders took photos of there crime - this happened on Sunday night.

What a horrible thing to happen anywhere but in your own community!!!!..... its just an outrage. If I were you I would pick some flowers and lay them at the shopping centre if you can.
This man will get caught! They have footage of him. The justise system will put him away for life and his life wont be worth living in prison. He will be bashed, raped and humiliated and I hate to say it but he deserves pain. He should be hanged. I feel nauseated. The whole country is mourning the loss of this little girl.

He'll get his comeuppance in prison being a CHILD MURDERER!
Horrific. As Paris*Mum mentioned, here in Adelaide an 11 year old boy was lured away from a skate park and brutally raped a few days ago and the sickos took photos whilst they were doing it!!
Unfortunately, it's sickening events like these that make us realise how careful we have to be with our precious ones :(
Crimes against children are the worst crimes, totally despicable. The perpertrators should have the book thrown at them.
We are coming to a point where we may have to teach our kids they can't trust anyone, for their own safety. :(

I just read the story about this and it has made me feel sick. We live 10 minutes away from this shopping centre and go ther a few times a week. It is a little to close to home.
This is just the saddest thing, I can't believe there are people like this in the world, preying on helpless innocent children. :crying:
I'm glad they got him, like ppl say he will get what's coming to him in prison. And I can also tell you that the cops won't be nice to him either.
That's terrible too about the boy in Adelaide. :crying:
I say line them all up and shoot them down after being castrated of course. No other way. It's horrific to think what these children go through and horrific how some people get away with it.
The more we are on the lookout for these people, the more we can put them away.

I don't want to burst any bubbles, but this man still has to undergo a trial etc, he is not yet convicted.
There are so many stones to turn, forensics etc that anything can happen between now and then.:(
I hope for the sake of everyones children that this is the man. It may be one creep off the streets, but I hope that parents do not become complacent thinking, thats OK he's been caught.

This poor little innocent girl...my heart goes out to her family.
This shopping centre is near where I live and I go there quite regularly so it is a little too close to home for me. The area it is in is such a nice family area too - certainly what you would expect In Canningvale.
The scariest thing is that it could have happened at ANY shopping centre anywhere. What will it take to take scum like this out of society?
these days everything concerning our children is scary....this is just soooo sad.
i have never let my children go to the toilets by themselves as i am so paranoid about thats sort of stuff, im from england and that sort of stuff is on the news daily!!...my son is 7 and i wont let him even play on our local green when i see other kids the same age playing etc
Its sad to think that we have to wrap our kids in cotton wool at all times, when our kids are missing out on freedom!
Its so sad:crying:

This story breaks my heart and it is far too close to home for me. I was just at Livingstone shops on Saturday for the Big W sale :(
I've heard on the local grapevine (note this is not substaniated) that the offender was known to the staff/shopkeepers and may at one time have been employed at Livingstone.
Also the Parents were called to the shops afterwards and the screams of anguish could be heard through out the centre. :crying::crying::crying: It tears me apart just thinking of what the parents must be going through.
Big W is apparently closed today out of respect.
I have an 8 year old boy and I think it will be a long long time before he'll be allowed to use public toilets by himself
I cannot believe this- it is sooo sad and such a waste of beautiful life :gloomy:
I do feel so much for the family and her brother who made the discovery- this will forever haunt him. :(
This was someone's beautiful daughter, sister, niece, loved one. My heart just breaks thinking of this. :crying:
When I was about 8 years old I used to go swimming with my Dad and brother and one day a man yelled at me in the change rooms (I was in the male change rooms) to get out. I remember that day well- I was terrified and when I went to the female change rooms I felt so alone and scared.
I think it's very hard for a girl to go to the toilet with her dad than it is for a boy to go to the toilets with his mum. I remember my DH changing my DD's nappy in a male toilet (yes they had change tables in the men's bathroom!!) and he said he got a lot of strange looks. I hope he is able to take her to the toilet when they are out together so she doesn't have to go alone. I am still so so upset about this story.

She was a gorgeous little girl and apparently the attacker did work part-time in one of the stores.

Anyone see the West Australian newspaper today?
The mother of the guy apparently responsible for the little girl's murder was supposed to have said that her son is not a violent person.
What sort of person would want to rape and murder an innocent little girl. What a sick guy. Seems to be happening more and more lately though :( Pretty damn scary, whats this world coming to??!!
Poor little girl, i really feel for her and her family :(
Edit - Oh and the West Australian said that they had spoken to the guy and his Mum last year about something but wouldn't say what it was about for legal reasons....So do you think he has been in trouble with the law previously...??
re-the west Australian today -- I read it too -- It sounded very weird. I wasn't quite sure whether the non-violent comment by the mother was from this year or if it was from the interview they did last year.
By the time I got to the end of the article it sounded more like the mother's comments (that her son was not violent) were from the previous interview. .... It's all very odd. If she said he wasn't violent last year ..... then what did he DO for her to be interviewed about it and give her cause to say that ....???
It sounded like there was a previous incident before this one --

They showed his face last night on Telly... he did look familiar.. think I've seen him on TV before
I did hear that he has been arrested for sexual assault on an 8 year old girl before but it got thrown out on a technicality.
I felt SICK. I felt SICK that I am bringing a child into this disgusting world.
That innocent little girl out with her family in a shopping centre. And they were looking for her and the toilet was "Occupied" when they were looking. He was in there doing that when they were looking. Oh god, how will they ever get over that? Knowing they were outside that door when that was happening.
My niece is seven, not that much younger, and she is so young and so sweet and so precious.
I want that man to pay. I don't want to pay taxes for him to be in jail. I want him gone from this world before my baby arrives.

without fail!! I dont see how ANYONE could do such a thing. They obviously have problems & are not normal. Dont deserve the right to be living anywhere near anyone.

I've just deleted all the posts in this thread that refer to rumours about the identity of the offender.
Please be careful when speculating on matters such as this, bubhub is a public forum which can be viewed by anyone.
Thank you

The mods have had to delete everything about this rumour once or twice already due to legal reasons, there is no evidence to support this rumour!
The police said on the news this morning that is not true... lets just leave it hey.
