I have a long running issues with infections since the birth. a UTI, ear infections and a root canal issue thats being going on for 4 months now. it seems like my body just isn't coping.

I'm eating well, taking my vitamins but the bubby dosn't let me sleep more than 4 hours a night. And then I have neigbours who take tuns at using powertools etc throughout the day from 7am ill 7pm. Could it simly be a sleep deprivation issue?

we had babies around the same time and although i am not having as many infections as you.. I generally dont feel that good.

my ears ache a lot.. like a constant slight infection going on.

after all my 5 kids i have had a year of bad health after birth. i believe its a combination of breast feeding and lack of sleep. when i stop breast feeding i start to get heaps better.

its just part of the deal of having bubs for me.

I hope you feel better soon.

How are you mentally/emotionally? Stress and unresolved stuff can stop you from getting well. You could also try replacing your vitamins with the food equivalent for a while, and making sure you get out for a walk each day. I'm not sure why it works, but I always find an infection clears quicker if I stay mobile and get a bit of exercise each day... it almost feels like the illness need the boost in my circulation to work its way out of my system quicker.

Take a fish oil supplement and add some flaxseed meal to your diet. It is, among other things, great to boost immune system and fine to take while feeding bub. Actually flaxseed meal can help with making the milk more fattier and filling.

With the flaxseed meal though, start slowly and build up gradually as it is high fibre and can go right through you!

Oh i'm eating heaps of healthy stuff, i always do. the vitamins are there for the extra baby stuff that's being sapped out of me.

I'd love to go for a walk each day but my lingering SPD issues make it painful to walk much. I'm hopeing to get us all to the pool today, that always helps!

Emotionally I'd doing OK except for when i get this overtired and have fantasties of doing nasty things to the neighbours who are renovating so constantly! we've lived here for two years and not a day has gone past without one of the neighbours using some sort of powertool. We'll be moving at the end of the year.

I don't know if this is any help but I have not been sick at all ever since pregnant with DS, he is nearly 12 mths now and I am pregnant with another and still breastfeeding him - so surely a huge strain on my body.

I have been racking my brain to think of why I am so much healthier despite the sleep deprivatin etc and the only thing I can think of is that I take 4 fish oil pills a day plus a blackmores pregnancy vit.

I really think it might be the fish oil.

THe only other thing that is different is that of cuorse I don't drink at all.

lol, i don't drink either, never have. i don't smoke, take drugs or even like fizzy drinks. I'm going to have to invest in some fish oil it seems.

Wocket and everyone else.. i have been thinking all day today about ways to boost the immune system for kids too.

my sisters kids are always sick and i would love to be able to give her advice on how to get their immunity up.

she does everything right dietry as well.. so if you find something wocket could you let me know?

Yeah its magic stuff, my kids are all on it. It works a treat for horrid winter skin and i notice a difference if i don't take it for sure ( i stopped taking it to see what happened)

It has a few uses for me, i get Psoriatic Arthritis as well as eczema, and it helps with the joint pain immensely, helps with my dry skin and it is great for the brain also. But it does work fantastically for the immune system. We constanly were getting boils and stuff like that but since being on fish oil, we have not had one.

Give it a go, i am sure you will get great results.

Did I give you the details for Thomas? He sorted out all my pelvic probs with one appointment at about 28wks preg and I've been fine since!

Re the vitamins... yep, you said you ate well, but if you're taking vits then perhaps in addition to your healthy diet you could try removing them and replacing the specific things they had with the real (food) version. Sometimes the weirdest things can prevent you body getting the best out of your foods, and your vits may be giving you a little too much of something that could intefere with the absorption of the stuff you need.

Anonnymouse, tell me of Thomas? Oh! and I've just noticed that we're about the same age with the ame aged hubbies!

I've tried going without the vitamins but start feeling flu like within a few days at the moment. the lovely Gwen still gets most of her nourishment from me and she's in the 99 percentile for her height/weight etc. She just dosn't seem very interested in solids
