I have never made Choc Chip scones myself but found this recipe on google:

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons applesauce
2 tablespoons water
1/2 cup milk
1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease two baking sheets.
2 In a large bowl, combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and sugar. Add the applesauce, water and milk; mix well. Fold in chocolate chips. Drop large rounded spoonfuls of batter onto prepared baking sheets.
3 Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 15 minutes. Let cool before serving.

Makes 12 scones

I usually make just plain scones and follow this recipe:

2 cups flour
2 TBLS sugar
1 TBLS baking soda
1/2 teasp. Salt
6 TBLS butter
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup milk

Shift together all dry ingredients
Cut butter into dry mixture, mix well
Add egg and milk to above mixture, knead gently (12 to 15 strokes) do not over knead.

Divide dough in =, shape into 2 balls, place on baking sheet and roll out to about 6 inch rounds. Cut into 6 wedges
Bake at 425 for 12 to 15 minutes (until firm and lightly browned)

Choc Chip Biscuits

125g Butter, softened
1/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
few drops vanilla essence
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup choc chips

cream butter, sugar, condensed milk and vanilla until light and fluffy. sift flour and baking powder together. mix all ingredients and choc chips into creamed mixture. roll tablespoonsful of mixture into balls. place on a greased oven tray and flatten with a floured fork. bake 180 c for about 20 mins. should make about 25 biscuits.

Scones

3 cups plain flour
6 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
75g butter
1 to 1 1/2 cups milk

sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Cut butter in until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add milk and mix quickly with a knife to a soft dough. Knead a few times. Lightly dust an oven tray with flour. Press scone dough out onto this. Cut into 12 even-sized pieces. Leave a 2cm space between scones. Brush tops with milk. Bake at 220 C for 10 mins or until golden brown. Makes about 12 scones.

Variation to plain scones....

Cheese Scones
Add 3/4 cup grated cheese, pinch of cayenne pepper and mustard to flour. Top each scone with a small amount of grated cheese before baking.

Date Scones

Add 3/4 cup chopped dates, 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon to flour. Top each scone with a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar before baking.

Saltana Scones
Add 3/4 to 1 cup sultanas to flour.

Enjoy!!!! :smiliedance:

this is my favourite scone recipe. it is so easy to make.

Ingredients:

4 cups of self raising flour
1 carton (about 300mls) of cream (pouring cream or thickened it doesn't matter but
lite cream isn't good for cooking)
300mls of water.

You can add fruit or cheese if you want (pumpkin is good too)

combine all ingredients and mix until sticky
grease and flour tray/baking sheet
cut into shapes - i use a glass (or if i am feeling lazy i put the whole lump on the tray and use a knife to cut into slices before i bake it.)
brush the tops with a little milk (helps them to go nice and golden)

then bake in a pre-heated oven at 220 degrees until brown (bout 15 minutes depending on your oven)

I use the same recipe as Billie&Beth but use lemonade, not water!
