Confused about # of bottles...

Hi there,

How many bottles did/does your 3 month old have over a 24 hour period??

5, for memory. With an occasional top up but not often.

oops, forgot to ask, do those 5 bottles include a dreamfeed?? or 5 during the day plus #6 bottle for late night? or NO late night bottle?

She was feeding 4 hourly all day and night, she would have a bottle at 9pm, go to bed, then one at 1am, then 5am. When she went down to 5 bottles she had dropped the 1am one, so she went 9pm-5am without a bottle. So the 9am was kind of her dreamfeed.

My little boy has 5 bottles including his dreamfeed, although this bottle is smaller than the rest. He'll occasionally have 6 if he wakes in the night but again it wouldn't be a full bottle.

Our little man has 5 bottles over 24 hours. Four hourly during the day and last bottle at 8:30pm with next bottle being 4:30am (although sometimes its 6am).

JB has a bottle 3 hourly occasionally 4 hourly so roughly 8 bottles in a 24 hr period

hi threeforme, can I ask how old your LO is? My bub is 12 weeks and is still feeding every 3 hours (today he's easily managing 2.5 hours!) I just don't know what's the deal with this?? He's fine in every other way, the formula we're on is good as well. I wouldn't say he's starving before his next feed, but he'll start to do the mouth-reflex thing as though he's looking for the bottle/nipple.

I tried doing 4 hourly for a couple days last week and it was a disaster with him waking up throughout the night 1 am, 4 am, etc for bottles. Whereas if we go 3 hourly during the day, he has a final one at around 10.30pm and will sleep till 7am.

Does this sound okay? Or am I missing something?

Ur lucky u get A full nights sleep harrison (JB) is 15 weeks this coming Thursday he feeds 3 hourly day and night it used to be 2 hourly then we went to hospital for 3 days to teach him to go 3 hours then he started doing 4 hours and then he got the flu and now he's back to 3 hourly day & night

wow.That sounds full on! I guess I was just curious to know what other mums out there are doing with their bubs who are the same age as mine. WHat I said about my bub sleeping till 7am...well...that's on a GOOD day. This morning his first feed was a touch earlier than that....4.30am....:o

Zane has about 6 bottles usually of about 140ml each time, sometimes only 100ml. During the day he is 3 hourly but lately 2.5 hourly, but I am thinking its a growth spurt maybe?

About 5 per day, maybe an extra for whatever reason. He used to drink the amount for a 6 month old, as he was a big bubba. But fed about every 4 hours:yes:. That was DS1 though.

DS2 is another story....:rolleyes:

DS had 5 at that age, then dropped back to 4, and has now picked back up to 5 again at about 6 months.
