hi, well i want to do a trip to the snow with my family.

we don't want anythign expensive and not interested in skiing and that.

my husband and i have never been before, and would like a nice 3/4 hr drive, play in snow for day then drive home.

we did find toboganning. looks good and cheap for us all to do. but what i found was at selwyn and not sure if that would be a bit too far to do in a day.

can anyone help out. do i need to go to snow resort? we jsut want to have some fun and play in snow. nothing to dangerous. would prefer not to srive too far into snow areas if possible.

maybe you know of a nice place on outskirts, would make a nice day?

any suggestions and advice is welcome.

i know i need parks pass, snow chains, polaroid glasses and warm clothing. any thing else i need to be told!

also is it hard difficult to do snow chains?

thanks everyone

Hi! We went to selwyn one year but it was a 3hr drive from syd. Seems a bit far.

We did need a national parks pass and snow chains. You had to carry them even if u had a 4wd. We hired the snow suits. But brought our own gloves, beanies and scarfs.

Hth! :)

3 to 4 hrs drive is ok, do you know which way you went? i have one site say to go to gundagai and another says go through cooma? but neither gives a time and old faithful where is doesn't have selwyn snowfields!
