my friend is willing to go surrogate for me and my wife and is even willing to let us use her eggs as my wife has a genetic condition that does not allow us to use my wife's eggs.
as far as costs what am i in for...
i know plane fare is obvious but as far as medical costs can i claim hospital costs bak on medicare or private health cover as it will be half mine as we are using my sperm.
can someone give me an insight to this problem.
If the treatment is done in the USA you will not be able to claim any of this back on medicare or private health insurance in the Australian system
Does you surro have private/work related health insurance over there?
I know some American's cross the boarder to access Canada's health care system - does your surro know anyone there.
It's a shame your'e wife has a genetic condition as you could have maybe created embies here and then have them taken to the USA.
From what I know doing 'traditional' IVF in the states can sometimes cost up to $20,000 per stim cycle. - which is partly because our PBS here actually covers a lot of the drugs used before we even see the cost of it.
