What DPO to use HPTs?

I've been amazed how much will power some of you girls have, waiting until AF is due before using a HPT, especially when almost all of the main brands sell HPTs designed to pick up HcG somewhere from 3-7 days before AF.

I'm wondering why you are all waiting until AF, and thought maybe it was due to previous bad experiences of early BFPs turing into BFNs a few days later (eg chemical pregnancies) or just that you don't think BFPs will show up until around DPO 14?

So I thought I'd do a poll to see what people's previous HPT experiences have been for those that have got BFPs.

For me, I hate to see that one lonely line, so I try to put it off as long as I can. With DD, I got my BFP around 18DPO, I just put it out of my mind until I started to notice real symptoms. This time, I have no idea as I still haven't got my period back after DD, so I try to test once a month or so. I just got 100 HPTs in the mail today which I ordered online:smiliedance: we'll see how long I can hold out now:rolleyes:

BTW, with DD, I was TTC for just under 1 year! So the synicism had definitely sat in:yes:

If you wait till AF arrives before you test, you only get one heartbreakung disapointment.. AF arriving.
If you test and get a BFN then you get two heartbreaking disapointments.. a BFN and AF .. PLUS the torture of convincing yourself it was just too early to test in the time between them both.


I think this month because I have no symptoms at all.. not even any imaginary onesi can summon up .. I'm waiting in ridiculous hope.
