Can anyone help me here.
we have been TTC #2 for 7 months now and no luck. last month home test come back pos but when i had bloods done they come back neg. when i spoke to the doc about the length of time she said that it can take time and if it was more then 12months and no luck then we could take further steps.
anyhow she took some bloods to check horm levels and founds that i was low in iron, folic and b12.
I am on supps now but wanna know how long does it take to restore levels? we have stopped ttc until levels are up.... but i hate not know how long it might take

Hi Kiwa,
Thank you for your question. Firstly I’d like to congratulate you for taking this step. It’s a very good thing that you are waiting to get your nutrient levels up before TTC again.
There are 2 aspects to this answer. The first is that it takes 120 for new red blood cells (which are the ones mostly affected by low iron and B vitamin levels) to form and be released into the blood stream. Incidentally the same amount of time that it takes an egg to mature and the sperm to form—so this is ideally the best amount of time to give you body to optimise things.
In saying this you may like to have your levels measured about every 6 weeks or so because when you do so you will be able to see if the amounts of iron and B vitamins you are taking are sufficient to rectify your problem or is more required?
You are looking to see a slight increase in the right direction each time you have your levels measure.
There may be other areas which can be worthwhile looking at to ensure both you and your partner’s bodies are as healthy and as fertile as possible to help you create the healthy baby of your dreams. I hope this helps!
