2 pos OPKs long LH surge?

Hey

I have had 2 pos OPK one a 9am yesterday and about 2 pm today.

My cervix is open and soft.

Just wandering if its normal to have pos that lasts this long?

and does that mean I haven o'd yet. does the LH surge have to end (neg OPK) before I O

My cycles all over the place so just want to work out O for a testing date.

Hi There,

My understanding is that the + OPK means you will 'O' within the next 24-36hrs. Which means that you should get at least 2 + OPK consecutively to cover that 24-36hr period. I have always had 2 + in a row and then it would go back to a - or a very faint line.

The OPK measure the LH surge which happens right before you're about to ovulate. (That's my understanding- because the OPK i bought says that 'when the test line is darker or the same as the control line it indicates you are about to ovulate'). So when the line is lighter or disappears then the LH surge has gone and ovulation has finished.

I always mark my chart saying 'possible ovulation' from the start of the first + opk until the first - OPK. That usually covers a period of 24-36 hrs.
