Irregular cycle after HSG

Hi there,
I had a HSG test done at day 11 of my cycle this month and everything came back normal.
I normally ovulate between day 14 - 16, but this month I wasn't so sure... I was doing OPK's and got a dark second line on day 15 (but not quite +ve), but then nothing the next day or for the next 4 days after that, so I assumed that I had just missed ovulation on the OPK's. Anyway, after my period being 5 days late I was starting to think that maybe I was PG. However, I had some light spotting 2 days ago and then nothing yesterday (I did a HPT and it was -ve). I have heavier spotting today and I think AF is definitely on its way today.
My question is - Is it normal to have an irregular cycle after having a HSG, or is there something else going on here? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your question!

After any kind of ‘procedure’ the body can become somewhat sensitised and changes may ensue. Obviously your ovaries would have been slightly bumped around during the procedure. The need for healing now and ‘stress’ this poses on the body may very well be the reason for this discrepancy.

It will mostly likely settle down, if it doesn’t it may be worthwhile being prescribed some herbal uterine and ovarian tonics to balance things out.
