Hi girls,
well this is my third month of TTC, and just wondering if any of you out there use OPK's and have NEVER got a positive line????
Im definietly ovulating, i have EWCM and ferning on my maybe baby each month, but never on the OPK. What does this mean???????

Thats really weird! What brand OPK are you using?
I used Fortel & Confirm (cheap Franklins brands) and always saw lines on them... Each time we fell pg was using OPK's - but only when the test line was DARKER than the control line.
Best Wishes!!!

Hi Emma, I tried using OPKs and only ever saw a lighter line than the control line. Apparently some people have a really short peak in their levels. You might have just missed it.
Good luck to you anyway :fingerscrossed:

yeah sometimes the surge may be in the middle of the night, or some other time when you arent testing, so its easy to miss it. thats why i got a saliva monitor
I have the exact same problem - my temps confirm that I am ovulating - but no +OPK. I gave up on them - they are too expensive and stressful :) As Doula said I think it's pretty easy to miss the LH surge.

Hi emma,
Yep definitely agree with the girls! I got ewcm and ferning on maybe baby last O but not on opk!! I used Fortel too! I say forget about the opk and stick to what you are doing! Thats why I got a maybe baby, its a one off cost, not like the opks!!

I've never had success with OPK's either. I'm relying on temps and MaybeBaby to predict ovulation.

I don't use temps or CM (too hard for me - working two jobs (1 full time 1 casual) with hubby and Lachlan to look after). I too have never noticed two lines with OPK's (I use ones from Lullaby Conceptions). I am now seeing my OB/GYN after 6 months of TTC (conceived Lachlan first month of TTC), have appt for 27th July. I suspect a hormonal imbalance given a family history of early menopause (37-39yrs and I am soon to be 34). Will keep you posted.

I'd perhaps consider using 2-3 OPK's per day. If the peak is short, you might miss it just using one.
I never saw ferning on my maybe baby, even in the cycle when we conceived #2 using an OPK.
You may find your specialist wants you to chart temperatures, so they can get a fuller picture of what is going on. We were having trouble TTC #2, and that was the first thinghe asked me to do, along with a lot of blood work, including a test to see if I had ovulated by checking my progesterone levels.

Hi Emma, I'm the other way. I seem to get no ewcm at all, but opk's seem to be working for me, that test line lights up really well when it's time. Though today I've bought my second packet, I need them from about day 10 - day 18, it's pretty excy! I'd prefer to have what you've got, good ewcm!!!Oooohhhhhhhhhh!
