Everytime I try to give my DS Dymadon or Nurofen he vomits it back up. None of my other children ever did this. He's got a cold is just miserable and not sleeping. My doctor says he's just sensitive to it but didn't offer any other advice. I'm sure if he could get some sleep he would recover quicker.
Has anyone ever had this problem or have any tips or advice on how to administer pain relief or any suggestions for alternative relief?
TIA

You can get suppositories.
Have u tried diluting it in boiled water. A lil girl I nannied could only keep it down when it was diluted. I assumed it was because it was too strong!

:iagree:, just try to make sure bubs takes it all, and even if he doen't, still wait the prescribed 4 (or 6) hours before the next dose, don't be tempted to top him up early 'cos he appeared to have got less
I would definately try the panadol suppositries. Both of our kids have been little buggers when it comes to having medication, so this is the only way we can get the fever under control without having to worry about them throwing it up etc. Not a great job, but someone has to do it! My 4 year old daughter will now take panadol or neurofen, but only b/c we have put a tiny bit of pink food dye in it (& she eats anything pink). The doctor thought this was ingenious!:yelclap:

I gave him half the recommended dose of Dymadon watered down. He took 3 x 3.5 ml syringes and actually quite liked it, he was sucking on the syringe by the end. Thanks
Monkey and Mum - I will look into the tissue salts for future use as I do like to use alternative therapies.
