View Full Version : Someone Please Help Us
Hi there all, I need some help badly. We have 2 girls but our youngest which is 7 months old is lasctose intolerant and since she was born we have had nothing but problems with wind. She is on S26LF lactose free formula and we have tried Infacol, Marina Infant formula, Bruers Colic Drops, and Gaviscon. The Gaviscon has been working up until now but the last week or so she constantly screams of a night unless i carry her around, burps and farts constantly and wont sleep unless i am holding her. We have taken her to 2 doctors in the last fortnight and have no results (needless to say i will be going to another doc ASAP). We havent had afull nights sleep since she was born but doesnt want night feeds. Can anybody help!!!!! Needless to say I am also suffering from post-natal depression.
P.S Has been tested and is lactose intolerant

I would have to say it sounds more like bubs may be not lactose intolerant but intolerant to the protien in the milk so i would have that checked out because your still having a lot of problems even after changing formula.
Have you tried keeping bubs in a baby carrier or sling through the day while you go about doing what needs to be done. Some babies sleep easier this way & feel more comforted & it can often help with your sanity i know it was a god send for me with DS.
Please see another doctor because it sounds like your not getting any answers & it seems to be enough of a stress on both of you to have something looked at.
I havent really got any major advice sorry but have one of these :hugs:
I went through 3 to4mths of hell with DS & its hard but hang in there it will get better & the sooner you find a doctor to listen to you the easier it will be.
Also remember to talk to someone about how your feeling & take care of yourself :hugs:

Hi,
All 3 of my kids have had lactose intolerance. The best product I was recommended by a peadiatrician was called Lacteeze. I used to crush 1 tablet in a little bit of cooled boiled water and then use a syringe and give it to them before giving them anything with lactose and before feeding them. There are drops available but they aren't quite as effective. I was lucky that all of mine grew out of it at around 12 months. You can find the tablets at some chemists or online. I used to buy them from this place http://althealth.junctionworld.com/cache/item-787public.html?cache=no.
Best of luck
you could also try talking to a naturopath, homeopath or taking your littlie to see a cranial osteopath. They work wonders also.
Hope you get some rest soon.

Have you tried the changing brand of formula. My DS was on S26 lactose free but it constipated him. I changed to Karicare lactose free and had no problems. He is now back on S26 lactose free because it seems to be more available. Haven't had any more problems with constipation though (he is 11 months now though).

yes take you little on to a cranial osteopath.i know it sounds as the two aren't related but i have heard they have worked wonders with infants suffering from colic.
