Hi everyone,
Here is my situation: I was due the 5th (I have been tracking my cycle for almost a year now and am on a very set 28 day schedule) for my period. It is now the 8th and I have still not started. 3 days late for me is a lot. About a week ago my breasts became very sore and tender. I always get some soreness a couple of days before my period is due but also know it's a common sign of pregnancy so I was just going to wait and see what happened. Well normally within 2 days of my breasts being sore I get my period but like I said, nothing yet. I have a few other pregnancy symptoms as well (including fatigue, nausea, backaches, headaches and frequent urination) so normally I would be psyched because we have finally conceived. But, yesterday I took an HPT and got another BFN. I missed my period so I don't think I tested too early. Also, I know the test was taken properly (have taken soo many of these things lol) and I am not under any stress lately. Has anyone had this happen to them or someone they know? And if so, what ended up happening? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I just want to know what is going on. My plan is to wait a few more days and if I still don't get it, test again. Just wanted some help in the meantime. Thanks so much in advance :)

Sometimes HPT can give you a false negative. I think First REsponse is generally considered to be a particularly sensitive brand so you could try one of those or head to the dr for a blood test. It sounds promising!! Good luck :)

Different tests are sensitive to different levels of hormones. Most don't register below 25mIU/ml (though some detect 10 but give LOTS of false positives). For some women their hormones go up really fast and for others it can be slower.

At 5 weeks your hCG can be anywhere between 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml so you may not get a reading yet depending on your body.

I'd wait a couple of days and try again.
