Hiya All
Can anyone recommend to me from personal experience a carrier or wrap to breastfeed with. It needs to be easy to use and come with easy to use instructions. Can they be used (once good breastfeeding is established) like a hands free thing if need be?
Also the person its for is small in stature and a larger girl with big breasts. Also, they already have a baby bjorn.

I have a peanut shell which I fed DD in easily. Its not completely hands free, she needed some light support while feeding but I could walk around shops with her on the boob. Not that I did it very often. I actually used it more for privacy while feeding than support.
I've heard you can feed in the hugabub and its supposed to be be hands free.

I have a didymos wrap. It's great. I do have to loosen it to breastfeed her, as I have a short torso, but it's easy to tie her back up again :)
I have to say I absolutely love it. Breastfeeding is great as I don't have to expose myself cos the wrap pretty much covers us up.
I don't know about "easy to use". It does come with instructions and honestly the more you do it, the easier it becomes.
Anyway, it's easy to make your own wrap. Try google. If you're buying it as a gift would be nice to make your own and decorate it and give it to her.

I have a homemade wrap (5meter long 60cm wide stretchy fabric) that when wrapped in an across the shoulder type way - hard to explain, sorry! Jasper was able to feed and drift off to sleep hands free and also very discretely - absolutely a bonus for feeding in public, particularly if you're eating yourself!

Would that only be good for BR or can it be used jsut as a normal sling too? I loved my sling I had for DS but I have put on way to much weight after him to use it again lol

Ring sling like a bear hug baby.
Wrap like a Moby or Elleroo woven.
Soft structured carrier like the Ergo.
Mei Tai like the Kozy.
They are all good for hands free breastfeeding, the rest comes down to personal preference.
Personally, I prefer soft structured carriers (though mine is a Pikkolo, not an Ergo) or my Kozy mei tai. I found it too hard to breastfeed in a wrap without smothering DS's face and I just don't like ring slings.
