i think.
but i'm not 100% sure that PCO only refers to having polycystic ovaries. But not the syndrome.
PCOS refers to the syndrome which can include;
insulin resistance, histruism, acne, weight gain, fertility issues and most importantly the hormonal imabalance and irregular periods.
I have PCOS but i do not exhibit the physical manifestations. I do however have the hormonal imbalance and the polycystic ovaries.

PCOS is polycycstic ovarian syndrome. A syndrome is a group of symptoms that occur together, and together are characteristic of a certain illness or disease. For PCOS there are a HUGE array of symptoms that can occur, and each person's presentation is individual (if you google 'symptoms of PCOS' you will come up with heaps of information).
PCO on the otherhand, is just the diagnosis of multiple ovarian cysts without any of the other symptoms. This diagnosis is made by ultrasound.
Hi :wave:
I have wondered this myself....I was told by a GP that I didn't have PCOS because I don't have the physical cysts on my ovaries, but when I went to an acupuncturist I was told that because I have the majority of the other symptoms I could still possibly have PCOS. It seems there are differing opinions out there on it. Can anyone else shed further light?
Thanks! :flowerz:

So PCOS effects ur chances of felling pregnant easy? and PCO doesnt? is that right?
I would assume both 'could' effect your fertility as with BOTH you have cysts on your ovaries and this is what effects your ovulation and so fertility.
I could be wrong tho...anyone else know for sure?! :)

Sorry but Im not sure how your info answers the OP's second question :confused:
If your cysts were only detected AFTER the birth of your second child how do you know that the PCO DOESNT effect fertility :confused:
Hope your not offended by my post. Am genuinely interested! :)
