How Early Can a BT detect a preg?!

As the title suggests...How early can a blood test detect a pregnancy?!

The blood test for pregnancy measures the amount of hCG in your bloodstream, not your urine. Blood tests can measure much smaller amounts of the hormone, and so can detect pregnancy earlier than urine tests, usually about six to eight days after ovulation.

well get this i had a blood test done at when i was 4 weeks preg with my DD and it said NEGATIVE! hum...... i had another one 2 weeks later and a scan... 6 weeks 6 days preg...
