Hi mumma2bee

I used OPKs for the first time this month. I started on the day they arrived in the post about 2 days before I thought I was going to O, (I'm also pretty regular but everyone's cycle is different) but I actually got my first positive result a couple of days later. They started out light but then got darker and I had 2 days where they showed up as positive. I ended up using seven of them this month.

So keep BDing :valentine: (I don't have a list of all of the acronyms though there is one around but BD stands for doing the Big Deed!).

I bought 50 OPKs online so I did not have to worry about how many I was using. They worked out at about 50 cents each.

Good luck and :babydust2:

Hey girls thanks for the replies. Im actually testing around 11 or 12. Just did another one out of curiosity and it came up with the faintest line. Its very annoying. I think we may have wasted our money but it dosent matter. I just looked up some product reviews on it and every single one said the same thing. Faint lines everyday or no lines and they all said they wouldn't buy it and it seems unreliable. I thought it was a good brand but dosent matter. From what I can see just BD-ing daily and not worrying too much seems to give the best results. It can't be good to over analyse every aspect of ttc, which is what I've done since I joined her. Hubby says to take a massive chill pill and be paitent cause its gunna happen if we bd everyday eventually. Hahaha men don't know about the obsession....... feathergirl, I might get those if we get bfn this month, they seem cheap enough. QUESTION - if you have concieved and u take a opkt what will the result be? No line?

Hi There,

Welcome to the TCCing journey.

I have been using OPK for the last few months. We plan on trying again in Sept, and i wanted to know roughly wheni ovulate. I have never used them for my previous 3 pregnancies, so i wanted to make sure knew how to use them this time. So i spent a lot of time researching and looking around old threads here on BH.

Lullaby conceptions, is the best OPK that you can buy online. I've heard the same about the bulk ebay purchased OPK...that they're not reliable.

I have been using the Lullaby Conception ones and they have been EXACT. I do get faint lines on some days, but the packet says specifically, that if the testing line is not darker than or the same as the testing line, then you're aren't ovulating.

The Lullaby Conceptions OPK comes with clearn instructions as well. Specifically, you should be testing the SAME time (roughly) each day, and they suggest the best time is about 3pm every afternoon.

Lullaby Conceptions is online, and you can order from their web site.

I'm sorry...i'm not sure what the OPK's would say if you're pregnant. Maybe it's worth you doing a pregnancy test then? :o

Men are interesting creatures...aren't they! Us women just want to be pregnant, and NOW! So for us to know when we ovulate, makes the whole process mean more of a likelihood of pregnancy.
Have fun!!

Mrs Little.

The brand I purchased was confirm 5+1. I also got forelife and tested those at the same time and ended up chucking them out cause the control line didn't even come up on those. I've def given up and I think ill let nature do the rest. Can't go wrong to bd everyday so we will see..... x

you should test twice a day other wise you can miss the surge, also best to bd (baby dance/sex) every second day that way it gives your DH sperm time to regenerate. Best of luck

Confirm got me both my boys, however I did back it up with the super expensive digital ones that show a smiley face when positive, I just used the digital ones the day I thought I had a :bfp:!!! I did find forelife a little dodgy.

Goodluck!!

With that did you get a strong test line? Cause that's the problem in having and confused about. 6 days testing and a faint line with darker edge on most days. So???? Freaky. Dh said were not buying them now after we read the reviews and other people had the same experience. I liked doing them even though I was dissappointed everytime! Hmmm not sure what to do other than do what I said in my previous post. I don't believe I have much cervical mucas and have never seen a spot or 2 as something I could measure, id say it was the same all the time if any. And as for bbt, im going to go and get a thermometer tomorrow and start charting that. This is only our first month trying so I know im getting very carried away with it all. But I want want want!!!!! Hahaha anyway any help is appreciated x

Yes I did get a strong line but everyone is different, seriously I can recommend buying the digital OPK's from the chemist I think they are clearblue and just use it when you think you have a positive on the cheaper opk's that way they last for months and you have a definite answer gotta love the smiley face when it's positive.

You have every right to be excited and doing all the testing you want to it's a funny old road TTC so try and enjoy it hopefully it will be a very short journey for you.

Oh man im getting so crazy about this whole ttc thing. I think im driving dh mad with talking about it. There is so much contradictary advice on here, what is obvious is that every single person is diffrent and its killing me. I wanna know the exact formula to fall preg NOWWWW. I also don't want bd-ing to be a massive chore but im starting to only think of my main goal during and its really hard to finish off if you know what I mean.... we decided to bd every remaining day till I get my period (hopefully not) and if that happens then we ill toss a coin for the next month to bd on odd or even days. Either way from what I have read through all these posts is the sperm can live for up to 6 days so why does ovulation have to be worked out so precicely? Oh man I dreamed of taking 2 pos hpt's last night hahahahaha so its getting to me. I think im imagining all these symptoms too which is funny.... im not paitent at the best of times so this is hard. I haven't thought of one single other thing since dh said we should start trying. I hope its over soon!
