I have a 13 week old little boy and have started losing my hair in the last 4 weeks at an alarming rate. I have fairly thick hair but I don't know for how long!!?? I know it is hormonal but has anyone else had this happen to them. I am losing hair balls everytime I wash my hair.

mine seems to be doing that aswell and I have no idea why!!
ive also got bad dandruff since having my DD
ITs normal from what i believe. Mine started falling out when EJ was about 4 months and is still comming out (though not in clumps luckily) A friend of mine ended up with a bald sorta spot she said when she had her baby cause of how much came out
Yep, completely normal!!
Mine starting falling out when DD was about 3 months old and didnt stop till she was about a year old!! It used to come out in huge clumps and really long strands from my scalp!! I got so scared because i know you are supposed to lose a little after pregnancy but i was losing absloutley loads! I honestly thought i would end up bald!!
Anyways, it settles down after about a year and then gradualy your hair starts to go back to normal. Its just your body getting rid of all the extra hair you grew during pregnancy because it doesn't think you need it any more.

Completely normal, the reason being that you don't lose any hair while you are pregnant, or in the approxiamately 3 months post-partum, so for the next 9 - 12 months, you make up for it, by losing all the hair you should have lost while pregnant, plus all the hair you would normally lose during that time period anyway.
I know it feels as though you're going bald - you're really not! I promise! I have quite thick hair too, and believe it or not, its still as thick as it ever was now DD is 12 months old, despite all that hair loss.
Don't stress, it will settle down in its own good time!

Mine comes out in chunks, and not only when i was it, when i brush it, or run my fingers through it....
i am only 23!!!
Im suprised i have any hair left atm.. But i do know my mother and her mother, lost alot of hair after having their children, but they still have most of it now!
Lol..
If you do find out what it is, please let me know.. Or more to it... How to stop it falling out... I think i might collect it all and glue it back on later in life, when i might need it, Lol..

It's one of those post partum treats that they don't tell you about:eek: I have thick black hair- it's looks soooo lovely on the bathroom floor and even more enchanting in those lil tumbleweed formations that blow across the tiles:rolleyes:
I'm wondering when it'll ease up, I started early this time around and still losing enough to create a wig every few days.

Mine does that too. It's driving me crazy having to pick the hair out of the shower everyday!
How annoying is it!!!! I had my hair up today and when i took it out i swear half of it stayed in the hair tie lol... i can't believe it takes so long to stop! Another thing to look forward to i guess lol... i swear if we didnt end up getting a gorgeous bub out of this whole pregnancy thing no one would ever do it lol

Thanks everyone. I feel so much better knowing a lot of others are going through the same thing. I was afraid I was going to turn out looking like a breastfeeding Angry Anderson or something.
