Hi,

I'm 32y/o single mum with 1 child, we live NOR Perth and I have just finally taken leave from work since my boy was born Feb 04. During my last days of work I have been trying to look up any mothers groups NOR. All I can see posted are young mums groups, under 25's etc..
I got to thinking why???? only young mums???? whether we are single, married, young, middle aged or older, whether our child is a newborn, toddler or pre-school, we are all mums (stay home dads should be included)

If anyone knows of a middle aged group with toddler kids NOR. Please let me know

Take Care

Hi Loopi,

It's unfortunate that other mothers/parents groups aren't really listed on here. I don't think the young mothers group actually excludes anyone, but I haven't been. I personally would feel out of place among 20 year olds!

I know I've seen parents groups advertised in the community section of our local papers (Joondaloop and Wanneroo) so you could try looking there. Or pop into your local child health center or library, there are usually some advertised there.

Good luck,

hey loopi, good point! i guess the reason there are only 'young mums' and 'under 25's' etc thread on here are thats what those people are looking for....maybe its something to do with the age group of people who frequent the internet? just a guess... either way your dead right we are all mums and yeah dads of course should be included! where are they all?

i asked about a younger mums group because i would like to meet mums who are around my age with bubs around my bubs age, you know for common ground type stuff, but in saying that i dont want to box myself into a certain type of age group really as when i look at my friends they are anywhere from 20-100 (i work in a nursing home and some of the oldies are great friends!!). :D

i cant help you out with any groups NOR, as im SOR but im sure your local MCHN would have a good idea?

hope you find what your looking for!!!

Call you local child health care nurse. They can normally put you in contact with other mums whose kids are around the same age. And, try calling the playgroup association. Go to as many as you can and pick one that is right for you. Good luck.

Hello..... Bub Hub do have a great page that covers all the contact info for the Playgroup Association. Here's a link to the page http://www.bubhub.com.au/infogroups.shtml. The info here covers all states. Also on that page are links to a couple of really good articles on what playgroups are all about. Happy reading!
