I wasn't sure where to put this so if its it the wrong area mods, please move it! :)

DH and I are going to start TTC this month and I have started buying some baby items such as singlets, a few grow suits, blankets and a second hand bassinet off a friend.

A few people think I am strange, but we are both only casual employees and our work will cease at the end of August, so we will be dependant on the dole for probably 5-6 months, and not able to afford much.

Am I doing the right thing buy getting some stuff now? I don't want to get to 6+ months pregnant and be panicking because we don't have anything. (Both DH's children were both concived first attempt with different mothers)

Nup your not alone!

I have just purchased a change table (just have to go collect it)... I am getting a car seat (need it due to my sister coming with my nephew from interstate) figured I may as well buy one.. We have a pram (that was left at the house we are renting but its basically brand new nothing wrong with it)...

I have bags of baby clothes that were given to us... I have bought little singlets etc... Damn I have even bought cloth nappies recently!!

I don't see a problem in it at all.. The only worry I have is what if we never conceive? lol

Good luck on your TTC journey :hugs:

Thanks dreamtobeamummy!

Hope your TTC journey ends in a sticky baby! If the worst should happen, you could always sell it, or give it to friends.

Hi Beckybug and everyone,
I agree...there's nothing wrong with that. The sooner the better...although some people think it's going to 'jinx' your TTC or pregnancy but it's all up to you. I bought a few baby clothes for my cousin cos she's now almost 7 months pregnant and bought a few for myself though DH doesn't know about it:D. We've been TTC for a few years now...who knows it might bring something...luck maybe hehehe....
Well, have a good weekend...

Beckybug what I learnt from TTC and having two DS's is that nothing is right and nothing is wrong just follow your gut instinct and enjoy the ride.

I have brought mini chuck taylor high tops, they are blue (if we have girls I guess I'll give them away) they were to cute and match a pair that DH has. I've also brought a cute little tee and some singlets and socks.

I have also brought issues of Cosmo Pregnancy :o yes it's true but it makes me happy hehe!
