Hi All

I have been TTC for over 12 mths, but have long cycles - usually around 60 days, but have had the odd 150+ day cycle and I get spotting for around a week before AF arrives in full, so I have just started seeing a GP that specialises in hormonal issues to see if I can get some answers. After blood tests she has determined that my Progesterone is too low and that is affecting both my cycle length and my ability to conceive, so has put me on the natural troche tablets (200mg/day) that you dissolve under your tongue. I'm supposed to be on these until I get AF, then stop them for 7 days and start them again before having a CD21 BT to see how things are going.

I've been taking them for a week, and emotionally I'm feeling really down today :gloomy: and I'm not sure if it is the progesterone making me feel this way, or if I'm just tired and run-down and unhappy in general! I have my down days every now and then, but this feels a bit worse than normal! I'm on about CD41 at the moment and haven't O'd that I'm aware of so perhaps AF is coming and I'm suffering from bad PMS

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had to use the troches prior to conceiving before and any side effects or even benefits they may have experienced?

TIA for any information you may have! :flowerz:

Hi Cymba,

Haven't taken the troches but was prescribed cream buy a naturaopath for pms. Not sure it has really helped, although maybe my breast tenderness starts a little later in the cycle than it used to. I think it also makes me feel a little sleepy too.

Maybe some of the IVF girls can help as I think its often used in IVF (not sure about the troches but vaginal pessaries I think).

Hope your cycle responds to the hormones and starts getting more regular!

Thanks for the response Anemone! I hadn't heard of too many people being prescribed the progesterone troche tablets before O to assist with cycles so wasn't expecting too many answers! Never mind!

Wishing you lots of luck too! :babydust2::wizard::flowerz:
