Hi
I'm curious about something and thought someone in here would be able to help.
I conceived twins but they didn't survive - does this increase my odds of conceiving twins in future pregnancies? Just curious...
TIA

Sorry about your loss. :hugs:
I've been told that chances of having twins increase to 1 in 7 if you have before.

Thank you :hugs:
Wow 1 in 7 sounds like a lot
Do you know what the odds are if you have never conceived twins?
It is fascinating stuff.

firstly big :hugs:
...another fact is that around 50% of pregnancies begin as twins...but then become singleton pregnancies.
It also depends on what 'type' of twins you conceived...fraternal are more genetically linked, and ID's are more likely a 'freak' occurance ...but more studies are actually saying ID's are genetically linked too!
...watch a doco called 'life in the womb - multiples', if you can find it! ...if you find this stuff interesting! great watch!! :goodvibes:
best of luck for the future!!
...things like age, diet, previous pregnancies and race, also factor in

Those facts are amazing - i had no idea at all.
I'm just curious because i think it's so strange i conceived twins :o and fascinating.
Not sure what my twins were - only found out at 11 weeks after i started miscarrying.
Anyway thanks for the info - my curiosity has been satisfied :D
I read in the book 'Twins' that if they were fraternal the odds are 1 in 4. Also if you are over 35 and eat lots of folic acid that raises your chance for frat twins as well.
