Hi Everyone,

I will start this thread by saying I am not usually a person who gets worked up over stupid things I hear on the radio but>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

This morning on B105 they had a segment called "Myth Busting" well it got my blood boiling I can tell you. The myth was that if you were drinking alcohol and were over the legal limit, if you ate 6 Fisherman's Friends you would mask the reading if you had to do a Breath Test. They tested the theory and it did in fact work. Well the morning crew thought it was all very amusing, laughing and joking about it. There was I admit a half hearted "we do not condone this, and please do not try this at home comment".

I am sorry but there really are enough people out there already that have complete disregard for the road rules and our laws that we do not need anymore people seeing if this little myth works. I know people should be should be able to distinguish between good and bad judgement for themselves but there are people out there who would think it was a bit of a laugh to see if they could do it and get away with it.

Anyway I sent them an email telling them how unhappy I was about this segment and that they do usually do such a good job within the community but this thing today was just dumb.

Okay - I am now off my soapbox and shall continue with my day..

Thanks for listening..

Paula

Hi Paula

I didn't hear it, but I have to agree with you that it's irresponsible and inappropriate... The world is full of stupid people...

Cheers!

I'd complain!

I worked in radio for about 6 years and we'd get complaints all the time (whether it be about ads or content). If the radio station itself doesn't give you any joy, then complain directly to the ABA - http://www.aba.gov.au/ - there's a complaints form there.

i've heard the fishermen's friend thing before & can't believe some of things that are put into the media so people can get around things

keep complaining till you get a reply & if you have no luck let me cause my nephew's little "girlfriend" is one of the morning shows daughters

Last night when coming home from dinner we were driving behind a drunk who was swerving all over the road and at times driving on the right hand side of the road into oncoming traffic. This guy in his late 30’s was obviously well off driving the latest Audi.

We dropped back as far as we could just waiting for the accident to happen. Like us he pulled up at the local AUR. I ran in to buy my milk and turned to see this drunken idiot pull his 2 year old out of the back seat !!.

I approached him at the counter with all intentions of saying something; he stank like rum and could barely open his eyes. He was getting angry with the store clerk so I bit my tongue. I felt like ripping his head off.!!! What can you do? I wish I were an undercover cop sometimes don’t you?

Why would B105 promote "how to drink and drive" directions.???... Like as if these idiots that drink and drive need any advantages.

Hi,

Thought I would update you all. I received a pathetic response from B105 saying they stand behind their segment and they don't condone dd

What a load of BS.. they were all laughing and joking about how funny it was and then as an afterthought say oh by the way don't do this... bunch of idiots...

I have decided to complain to the ABA and am boycotting any of the Austereo channels.

I won't make much of a difference but at least I feel I have made a stand..
