DD2 was put on thickner about a month ago after suddenly at 9weeks old developing reflux (so im told). Every dr, midwife, nurse gave a different diagnosis but in the end I thought I may as well try a thickner.
It has been great far less vomiting (though still a little) and a far more settled baby.
We were told to use the thickner for 2weeks then give her a day wihtout it. We tried this she went back to vomitting constantly so we were told to put her back on it and try again after another couple of weeks. The weeks have passed but DD caught the flu really bad so we didnt want to mess with anything at that point.
Now shes getting better im wondering about when to try again.
I have little faith in my healthcentre nurse or GP cos they always tell me conflicting things so I thought Id ask on here.
How long should babies be on thickner? When and how do you get them off it? Why cant they stay on it if its working and they're happy?
TIA
