Has anyone here vaccinated your first child but not subsequent children?

DS was vaccinated up to 2 and DS2 who is 9 weeks isn't going to be vaccinated. I am finding lots of people telling me that I cared more for DS1 than I am DS2 because of my choice. I don't feel bad, but wondered if this was a normal reaction by others.

Also--If you have 1 done and not the other, are you cautious of things like outbreaks of illness @ school and whether or not your vaxed child could bring it home to your unvaxxed child?

Not sure if I am making sense. Its late haha!

Neither of mine are vaxed, so I can't comment on the doing one and not the other issue. I tend not to discuss it with pro vaxers....I made that mistake with my family when I decided not to vax my first.....they think I am insane;) They are fully indoctrinated to think that an unvaxed child is a sitting duck for a deadly disease.

Most parents who have decided not to vax do it BECAUSE they care, just as most parents who vax do it because they care. So the comments are ridiculous and I'm glad you are not taking them on board.

As for the vaxed child bringing diseases home.....I think it's prudent to be vigilant about coughs around a newborn or young baby. There is still a bit of whooping cough around and it's hard to identify in its early stages. Babies are better off NOT getting WC!!!

My Ds who is 5 is fully vaxxed apart from the CP, and my other DS is only vaxxed up till he is 6mths old. I don't really get any reactions from others.

I don't worry about my vaxxed one bringing home anything and vice versa. Its the risk you take when you don't vax so you are always prepared for it.

nearly 3yo DD is vaxxed as per the schedule (so her last one was at 18mo) but 16mo DS is not vaxxed, well, he had the 2month ones but nothing since and won't have any more at this stage. I'm still undecided as to what to do in the long term, so i'm still researching. Belly Baby also won't be vaxxed at all.

I'm not at all worried about outbreaks in school situations (though mine aren't school age yet), if we're talking a chickenpox outbreak, then they'll both still goto school (if they don't have it, obviously), if we're talking whooping cough, then i'll keep them both home.

I think it's quite normal for a lot of people to have one or more children vaccinated before coming to a realisation and then not having subsequent children vaccinated. If you're worried about others responses, just don't tell them. No one knows that DS isn't vaxxed, not because i'm ashamed, just because no one has outright asked (if they did I would be honest), and it's not the sort of information i'm just going to offer up out of the blue.

I have 3 boys my youngest has not been vaxed at all while the other two were.

I am happy to tell people he is unvaxed and have had the usual negative comments from family and friends but i have found they shut up pretty quick when you put it back on them and ask them direct questions about what they know about it.

most people know diddly squat and are just reacting on media based fear.

As far as bringing stuff home from school it doesnt worry me anymore than if i had a vaxed child at home for them to bring it home to.

I am confident we know enough about what is out there not to fear it and to take sensible precautions where needed.

No matter what EVERYONE should be cautious cause weather or not your vax EVERYONE can carry and get things. You would worry about both your children
