It is often suggested that babies get a chance to re-settle themselves at night and not have parents run in...I'm all for this but how long is long enough for you to know its a grizzle not a need for a feed???

My DS is 4 months and is put down awake for sleeps without dummy and settles fine but wakes during the night a few times, feeds (not for very long) and hoes back to sleep. He doesn't really cry noisily at night and I am trying to get a handle on what consititutes a grizzle??

Younger babies actually have a certian sort of cry for being hungry (well my dd did anyway) it's kinda like a "neh" cry where they make the nnn sound with their tongue. Where as a grizzle would just be whiny tired sounding, and would have alot of breaks where the baby stops crying, starts up again etc.
