what a cow!! were the messages sent thru the ebay messaging system? You can report her for being a cow and for goods not received as advertised or something like that.
I can't believe she wouldn't let you pick up so she could make an extra $5!! She could have saved you $12!!! what a crap seller.
I'd be leaving her a big red neg if I were you.

I agree, I would be leaving a big fat negative for her and then I would be taking it up with the higher ups of ebay... open a dispute, the option should be in your ebay user control panel...

Report it to ebay straight ahead. What A cow.
Make sure you leave the worst feedback possible also.
Even if the messages werent sent over ebay you cant report the faulty goods, when you sell something on ebay you are signing A contract, and anything falsely described is A crime.

the messages were sent through ebay so they will all be on record and i paid through pay pal so i will be disputing this then she claims that u can profit from postage costs but i know u cant it says so in the contract and i still have the box she sent it in to prove it to

sellers are allowed to charge whatever postage they want unfortunately. Did she say in the listing what the postage would be and that she charges her own rates?

no she didnt it just said postage rates foe these items are $12 and it states in the contract that u are not allowed to profit from postage you have to charge what the item weighs/cost of postage it clearly states that.. someone just showed me the writings that state this

Dunno about Ebay but some other auction sites do not allow you to add extra in the postage (which is usually done to bump up the profit if the item sells cheap). Definitely have a go at reporting her for the crappy items.
As for not letting you pick up... I've done a fair bit of trading and even if someone lived on my street I would be very cautious about letting them into my house if I don't know them. It's basic safety. I'd offer to meet elsewhere to exchange, but wouldn't let them come to my home.

The money aspect, she'll be able to argue 'handling' charges (thats what they're there for. i know quite a few people who actually use an outside company to do their packaging for them, which is why its not just a straight out postage fee).
but i'd leave her a negative feedback, and try and complain.
Goodluck.

Unfortnately they all profit from postage costs:rolleyes:. Some of them are really rediculous. I remember seeing something on there that cost something like $50 with $50 postage and handling!!! I was like "get stuffed!!" So I'm not sure you'll be able to argue that one as you agreed to buy it for those costs, but the condition of the garments and how she dealt with the situation, yes I would complain.

I wanted to buy something from someone in the same town as my mum. I offered to either pick it up, or have it dropped off at my mums (who lives in a very central part of town). The answer was no. I didn't bid. I was only going to bid if I could pay the seller on pick up because the item was shoes and the photo was unclear. I think that they were probably not in good condition.
Some people use the 99c auction, but then add a (for example) $50 postage and handling fee so that they a)pay lesser fees b)get more people looking when the item is only 99c c)get the price they really want and d) catch out someone that doesn't read what the fees are.
Leave her bad feedback. What a cow.

Regardless if she profited from postage, the messages she sent you should be enough for her to receive A strike or maybe even have her account suspended. She falsely listed the items she sold you and I believe that alone is enough to receive A strike, let alone the way she spoke to you, I'm sure Ebay wont tolerate that.

ANonnyMouse: i do totally agree with that i do also sell things on ebay and if a buyer wants pick up i meet them some where to do it the thing that also got me about this ( which i also asked her about this and i got no reply back) was she had another item up for auction which was for pick up only at the sellers address?? whats with that she only wanted to profit from postage.
MimiGrace: nope she packed it herself not even in a postage box just in a cardboard box from like woolies etc ( i do not have a problem with this however for the amount i was charged she could have bought a postage box)
JackzMumma: yes i did agree to buy however i agreed and thought and was told postage to me was $12 however it was not
and all this got me thinking as to where she sent the parcel from as there is a post office on my street so i had a look at the postage sticker and sure enough it was sent from the post office on my street :hair: like she would have driven/walked there why not just drop it on my front doorstep etc she would have had to drive PAST my house to get to the frigin post office.

:iagree:You have agreed to buy the item knowing what the postage is. Ebay will not get involved. Her abusing you and the fact the goods were not as described well I would lodge a complaint.
I recently purchased a gorgeous elmo outfit for DD2 anyway the seller did not answer several emails in regards to some hannah montana stuff. So I waited and sent another email anyway she then sent an alert!! So I wrote back with info of contact dates etc that they did not respond. Then I made payment via paypal but by her email addy not through ebay so she then gave me a strike!! I was so furious I contacted ebay and wrote a long letter. They got back to me and the reason she did it was to claim fees back GRRR. The ebay seller apologised and removed the strike as they checked my history and could see that I was a fast payer! Now I don't want ot leave feedback coz you know how they retaliate

I sell stuff on ebay every now and then and I would always post with pre-paid satchels which was listed in the auction so I NEVER profited on postage (if anything I lost money occasionally as I wouldn't include the cost of bubble wrap to protect the items). So not ALL sellers profit on postage ;). This was for my own convenience.
In addition I had Terms of Sale at the bottom which stated in bold and caps NO PICKUPS. This was my personal preference for my own privacy. People would still msg me b4 hand asking if they can pickup and the answer was always no. I'm sure I lost out of many bids/business but so be it :)
Regarding this woman though its NOT good enough, the item is not described bad condition and her communication warrants negative feedback. Postage is unfortunate but they can use 'handling costs' against you.
